About the Role:
We are seeking a Business Finance Manager to establish and lead our business partnering function.
This role will work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product/R&D leaders, providing financial insights, budgeting discipline, and decision support.
The candidate will play a critical role in aligning business activities with financial goals and ensuring efficient deployment of capital across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering:
- Act as the finance partner for business functions, primarily Sales, Marketing, and Product/R&D.
- Build trust with functional leaders by providing clear, actionable financial insights.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support business teams in preparing budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Monitor spend against budgets and ensure accountability.
Expense & Procurement Oversight:
- Oversee PR/PO approval processes to ensure compliance and budget alignment.
- Track vendor spends and recommend cost optimizations.
Performance Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct analysis of functional performance vs. benchmarks and budgets.
- Develop and present monthly reporting packs for Sales, Marketing, and Product teams.
- Identify areas of overspend, underutilization, or efficiency gaps.
Decision Support & ROI Analysis:
- Build business cases and ROI models for new initiatives, campaigns, or product investments.
- Provide recommendations to improve capital allocation and efficiency.
Process Development:
- Establish scalable business finance processes across functions.
- Standardize reporting and tracking methodologies to improve transparency.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor 12 analysts aligned to business functions (Sales/Marketing, Product/Procurement).
- Build a culture of proactive analysis and strong stakeholder support.
Operational Excellence & Controls:
- Strengthen financial processes, systems, and reporting as the company scales.
- Support compliances with internal controls and provide recommendations to improve efficiency.
Qualifications/ Skills:
- CA or MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution.
- 4-6 years of experience in business finance, preferably in SaaS or subscription-based companies.
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models and cost structures (Sales & Marketing vs. Product/Engineering).
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
- Expertise in financial modeling, ROI/NPV analysis, and business case preparation.
- Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, revenue recognition, and ARR/MRR mechanics.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills ability to influence non-finance leaders.
- Hands-on with Excel/Google Sheets; exposure to BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) preferred.
