Senior Manager - Finance


Job Purpose:


The Senior Finance Manager will be a pivotal leader within SATRAC's finance department, responsible for overseeing all daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities.


This role requires a highly experienced and analytical finance professional to manage bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivables, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Month-End Closing, MIS reporting, and effectively handle internal and external audits.


The ideal candidate will also drive automation and system controls within SAP Hana, contributing significantly to the company's financial efficiency and strategic decision-making.


Principal Accountabilities:


Finance & Accounting Management:

- Lead and manage all finance, accounting, and reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in daily operations of the accounting department.

- Establish, implement, and enforce robust accounting methods, policies, and principles across the organization, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

- Review, monitor, and manage departmental and overall company budgets, identifying variances and proactively recommending corrective actions.

- Achieve and exceed financial accounting objectives, contributing to the overall financial health and stability of the company.

- Establish and meticulously maintain comprehensive fiscal files and records, ensuring all transactions are accurately documented and easily retrievable for audit and review purposes.

- Conduct thorough revenue and expenditure variance analysis, providing insightful explanations and actionable recommendations to optimize financial performance.

- Oversee and manage all fixed asset activities, including acquisition, depreciation, disposal, and conduct regular capital assets reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Champion and drive initiatives for automation and the implementation of robust system controls within SAP Hana, enhancing efficiency, data integrity, and internal control frameworks.


Reporting and MIS:

- Monitor and meticulously analyze accounting data, producing accurate, timely, and insightful financial reports and statements for various stakeholders.

- Prepare and present detailed financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, and expenses, providing clear and concise summaries for management review.

- Develop and enhance management information systems (MIS) to provide relevant, timely, and accurate financial insights for strategic decision-making.


Audits:

- Coordinate and meticulously complete quarterly and annual internal and external audits, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring a smooth and successful audit process.

- Identify opportunities to improve existing systems and procedures, initiating and implementing corrective actions to strengthen internal controls and enhance efficiency.


Handling Internal and External Stakeholders:

- Collaborate effectively with internal departments, providing financial insights and support to operational teams.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, and other financial partners.

- Effectively communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.


Knowledge & Skills Needed to Deliver on the Accountabilities:


Financial Expertise:

- Profound knowledge and hands-on experience in Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables management.

- Comprehensive understanding and practical application of General Ledger accounting principles.

- Expertise in Management Information Systems (MIS) and financial reporting.

- Extensive experience in coordinating and successfully completing Audits (internal and external).

- In-depth knowledge of Fixed Assets management, including capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliation.

- Strong understanding of GST and other Statutory Compliances relevant to the manufacturing industry.


Business Acumen:

- Strong commercial and business awareness, with the ability to understand the financial implications of business decisions.


Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely.

- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence and persuade others effectively.


Analytical & Problem-Solving:

- An analytical and methodical approach to work, with a keen eye for detail.

- High numerical aptitude and sound technical financial skills.

- Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive initiative-taking approach.

- Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature, capable of identifying discrepancies and root causes.


Formal Education Requirements:

- CA (Chartered Accountant) / ICAW (Institute of Cost Accountants of India) / MBA Finance


Years of Relevant Experience Needed:

- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a finance and accounting role, with a significant portion of that experience gained within the manufacturing industry.
