Role summary -
We are seeking a seasoned SAP S/4HANA Materials Management (MM) and Warehouse Management (WM) Manager to lead delivery of procurement, inventory, and warehouse transformation programs for global clients. You will own end-to-end project delivery, lead teams of 10-15 consultants, drive solution design across MM/IM/WM (and EWM where applicable), and act as a trusted advisor on best practices, roadmaps, and value realization. The role blends delivery leadership, deep functional expertise, integration oversight, people development, and pre- sales support.
Key responsibilities
Delivery leadership and client engagement
- Lead end-to-end delivery of small to mid-sized SAP S/4HANA engagements (scope, plan, design, build, test, deploy, hypercare) with accountability for scope, quality, timelines, and budget.
- Facilitate cross-geography workshops, drive requirements elicitation, fit- gap analysis, and sign- off on TO- BE designs and solution blueprints.
- Serve as primary client contact; manage stakeholder expectations, risks, and communications; ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
- Support pre-sales (RFP/RFI): solution scoping, effort estimation, staffing plans, demos, PoVs, and proposal content.
SAP MM / Procure-to-Pay and Inventory Management
- Own design and configuration across MM enterprise structure, master data (materials, vendors, purchasing info records), procurement (PR/PO, contracts, scheduling agreements), and inventory management.
- Design and optimize pricing procedures (PO), inter/intra-company procurement, and special procurement scenarios (subcontracting, third- party, consignment).
- Lead Logistics Invoice Verification (LIV) and Automatic Account Determination; partner with Finance for touchpoints.
- Define batch management and batch determination strategies for inbound/outbound processes.
- Govern testing: author BPDs/BPPs, Functional Specs (WRICEF/RICEFW), test plans/scripts; drive SIT/UAT, and defect triage through closure.
- Guide data migration (LSMW, LTMC, SAP S/4 Data Migration Cockpit): strategy, mapping, cleansing, mock loads, and cutover.
SAP Warehouse Management (WM) / EWM-specific responsibilities
- Design and configure warehouse organizational structures (warehouse numbers, storage types/sections/bins), stock removal/putaway strategies, and replenishment.
- Set up and optimize inbound processes (GR, deconsolidation, HU management, putaway) and outbound processes (wave/pick/pack/ship, staging, loading), including cross-docking and opportunistic/cross-line flows.
- Implement Handling Unit (HU) and packaging specification strategies; enable GS1-compliant labeling and barcoding standards.
- Establish physical inventory processes (cycle counting, continuous, and annual counts) and exception handling; leverage Warehouse Monitor and KPIs for visibility and control.
- Configure RF/mobile data capture and Fiori-based warehouse apps; integrate with scanners, printers, and edge devices.
- Define slotting and rearrangement strategies; optimize warehouse layout and master data for throughput and service levels.
- Implement value-added services (VAS), kitting/de-kitting, returns, and quality inspection integration within warehouse flows.
- Integrate WM with SD, PP, QM, PM, and Transportation (TM); manage interfaces (IDocs, APIs) with 3PLs, MES/WCS, and automation (e.g., conveyors/ASRS/MFS where relevant).
- Lead WM to S/4HANA transition strategies (Stock Room Management vs. EWM), footprint assessments, and migration roadmaps; oversee cutover and stabilization.
- Drive performance tuning and operational excellence: labor utilization, picking productivity, dock-to-stock cycle time, inventory accuracy, and compliance.
Integration and technical oversight
- Collaborate with ABAP/technical teams on WRICEF/RICEFW design and realization (interfaces, enhancements, forms, reports).
- Govern solution integrity across modules (SD, PP, QM, PM) and with external tools (Ariba, Coupa); ensure robust error handling, monitoring, and supportability.
- Leverage Fiori apps and S/4 innovations to simplify processes and elevate user experience.
- Apply ITIL-aligned service management, incident/problem/change processes, and knowledge management.
People leadership and practice development
- Lead, coach, and mentor teams of 10-15 FTEs; drive performance management, skills development, and a high-performance culture.
- Contribute to asset development, accelerators, templates, and best practices; support internal trainings and thought leadership.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning; stretch into new technologies and processes as needed.
