About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled SAP FICO Functional Consultant to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful end-to-end SAP FICO implementations, strong subject matter expertise, and the ability to lead and manage team efforts. This role is critical in driving the design, configuration, implementation, and support of our SAP Finance and Controlling solutions to meet complex business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional & Implementation
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the SAP FI (Financial Accounting) and CO (Controlling) modules, covering all sub-modules including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Bank Accounting, Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Internal Orders, and Product Costing (PC).
- Lead and execute end-to-end SAP FICO implementation cycles, including blueprinting, gap analysis, configuration, customization, testing, training, data migration, and post-go-live support.
- Design and implement solutions with a strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and statutory regulations.
- Develop functional specifications for custom developments (RICEF - Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) and collaborate closely with ABAP developers.
Integration & Technical
- Demonstrate strong experience with the integration of SAP FICO with other key SAP modules such as SD (Sales and Distribution), MM (Materials Management), PP (Production Planning), and HR (Human Resources).
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot/resolve complex application issues in FICO production and non-production environments promptly.
- Conduct unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
Leadership & Management
- Collaborate and manage the team to perform effectively, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Responsible for team decisions related to functional design and technical approach within the FICO domain.
- Mentor junior team members and conduct knowledge transfer sessions.
- Utilize familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., ASAP, Agile) to ensure structured and successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 7.5 to 12 years of hands-on experience in SAP FICO as a Functional Consultant.
Education: Master of Business Administration (MBA) is mandatory. A specialization in Finance is highly preferred.
Technical Skills (Must-Have):
- Proficiency in SAP FI CO Finance with multiple full lifecycle implementation projects.
- Expertise in core configuration and business processes within GL, AR, AP, AA, CCA, PCA, IO, and Product Costing.
- Proven experience in defining and implementing complex financial reporting structures.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear and detailed functional design documents.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with S/4HANA Finance, including New GL, Central Finance, and Embedded Analytics.
- Knowledge of Country-Specific Tax and Localizations.
- SAP Certification in FICO or S/4HANA Finance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
