Job Title: Assistant General Manager (AGM) - Commercial
Location: Hyderabad, India
Role Overview
Sanvira Industries is seeking an experienced commercial professional to lead and execute sales, sourcing, and customer development initiatives across key carbon and related bulk commodities. The role spans both procurement and sales, requiring strong market understanding, execution capability, and commercial judgment. The candidate will work closely with senior leadership and play a critical role in strengthening Sanvira's supply chain, market positioning, and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales, Sourcing and Business Development
- Develop and manage sales / sourcing strategies for key commodities including Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC), Green Petroleum Coke (GPC), Coal Tar Pitch (CTP), Calcined Anthracite, Carbon Paste / Carburizers
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new customers and suppliers
- Negotiate commercial terms including pricing, payment structures, and delivery schedules
- Monitor market trends to optimize sourcing decisions
2. Commercial Operations & Trade Execution
- Oversee end-to-end trade lifecycle including Contracting, Shipment planning, Documentation
- Manage trade finance instruments including Letters of Credit (LCs) and related documentation
- Ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements
3. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate multimodal logistics (port, shipping, rail, road)
- Develop understanding of freight markets, port handling and Indian Railways logistics
- Optimize logistics cost and efficiency across procurement and sales flows
4. Team Management & Internal Coordination
- Lead and mentor a small commercial team
- Work closely with Director - Commercial, Sr. General Manager - Commercial and Plant operations and finance teams
- Interface regularly with promoters on key commercial decisions
5. Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Build and maintain intelligence on Commodity pricing trends, Supply-demand dynamics, Competitor activity
- Support strategic initiatives including new market entry, product expansion, supplier diversification
Candidate Profile
Education
- MBA (preferred)
- B.Tech / Engineering degree (preferred)
Experience
- 12-18 years of experience in commercial roles involving bulk commodities
- Prior exposure to carbon materials, metals, energy, or related sectors preferred
Core Competencies
- Strong negotiation and commercial structuring skills
- Understanding of international trade and documentation (LCs, Incoterms, contracts)
- Working knowledge of logistics including shipping and railways
- Ability to develop both supply sources and customer relationships
- Analytical capability with strong Excel skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder management
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage
