Role Overview:
As the Chief of Staff (or Founder's Office lead), you'll be the Founder's trusted partner, turning bold ideas into reality with exceptional execution.
This high-impact role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, loves building teams, and can lead our shift from services to a range of innovative products. You'll create and lead a small, high-energy team to drive growth, with the freedom to make a lasting impact and potential for equity based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Execution: Work hand-in-hand with the Founder to craft and deliver growth plans, including global expansion and new product development. Research markets, study competitors, and turn insights into clear, actionable steps.
Team Building: Hire, guide, and inspire a small, top-notch team (4-6 members to start) focused on strategy, operations, and product creation. Build a culture of excellence, teamwork, and bold ideas.
Driving Results: Streamline processes, manage key projects, and ensure everything aligns with our goals. Take charge of high-priority tasks, from partnerships to navigating new markets.
Growth Leadership: Spot and seize opportunities to boost revenue, like launching products or forming global partnerships. Track progress (e.g., revenue, customer growth, team performance) and share clear, useful insights.
Stakeholder Connection: Act as the bridge between the Founder, team, and partners. Create clear, compelling updates, presentations, and reports to support decisions.
Problem-Solving and Innovation: Tackle challenges in scaling from services to products with smart, creative solutions. Test new tools and approaches to keep us ahead.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Graduate from IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, or Calcutta (IIM ABC). An MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus.
Experience: Proven success as an ex-founder (ideally with a successful startup) or in senior strategy/operations roles at fast-growing companies. At least 8-10 years of experience, with 3-5 years leading teams and executing strategies.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in moving from services to products, growing businesses globally, or working in tech, consulting, or consumer sectors. Knowledge of the Indian startup scene and global markets is a big plus.
Track Record: Clear wins in building strong teams, doubling revenue (e.g., 2x+ year-over-year), or launching products that made a real impact.
Skills and Qualities
Execution Excellence: A sharp, can-do mindset with a knack for turning ideas into results, even in a fast-moving environment.
Strategic Thinking: Strong ability to analyze data and make smart, clear decisions.
Leadership: Inspiring and clear communicator who can motivate teams and build trust with stakeholders. Proven ability to lead organizations through growth and change.
Technical Skills: Comfortable with tools like Excel/Google Sheets, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), project management platforms (e.g., Asana/Trello), and basic product development methods (e.g., Agile).
Global Mindset: Ready to work with diverse markets, cultures, and regulations.
Other: Fluent in English; Hindi or Gujarati is a bonus. Willing to travel as needed.
