Salud Care - General Manager/Head - Sales

Job Summary:

The Sales Head will be responsible for leading and managing the overall pharmaceutical sales operations, driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and achieving organizational sales objectives. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, channel management, and close coordination with marketing and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement short-term and long-term sales strategies aligned with company goals

- Lead, mentor, and manage the national / regional sales team including ZSMs, RSMs, ASMs, and MRs

- Set sales targets, budgets, and performance metrics for all regions

- Drive product-wise and territory-wise sales growth across key therapeutic segments

- Appoint, manage, and monitor distributors, stockists, and super stockists

- Ensure effective territory planning, route planning, and doctor coverage

- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and sales data to identify growth opportunities

- Coordinate with marketing team for product launches, promotional strategies, and campaigns

- Ensure strict compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical practices

- Monitor collections, credit control, and outstanding payments

- Prepare and present sales performance reports to senior management

- Participate in recruitment, training, and performance appraisal of sales staff

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong leadership and team management skills

- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical sales, distribution, and market dynamics

- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Strategic thinking with strong analytical abilities

- Ability to drive performance in competitive markets

- Proficiency in sales analytics, CRM, and MIS reporting

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field

- MBA / PGDM in Sales & Marketing preferred

Experience:

- 10-18 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales

- Minimum 5-7 years in a senior leadership role (Sales Head / National Sales Manager / GM-Sales)
