We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and evolution of enterprise Salesforce solutions supporting global B2B and B2C business operations.
The ideal candidate will combine strong solution architecture capabilities with hands-on Salesforce technical expertise. The role requires someone who can translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions, guide development teams, make sound architectural decisions, and write or debug code when required.
The architect will work across multiple Salesforce applications, external enterprise systems, country-specific business processes, and cross-functional technology teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Solution Architecture and Design:
- Own end-to-end Salesforce solution architecture, from requirements discovery through design, implementation, deployment, and production support.
- Translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce architectures, technical designs, data models, integration patterns, and implementation roadmaps.
- Evaluate standard Salesforce capabilities, configuration, declarative automation, custom development, and external services to recommend the most appropriate solution.
- Define architectural standards, reusable components, coding guidelines, design patterns, and technical best practices.
- Assess the impact of proposed changes on existing applications, integrations, business processes, and future enhancements.
- Identify technical risks, scalability constraints, platform limitations, and opportunities for simplification.
2. Hands-on Salesforce Development:
- Write, review, debug, and optimize Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and other Salesforce customizations when required.
- Develop proof-of-concepts and technical prototypes to validate architectural decisions and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of Apex triggers, asynchronous processing, Batch Apex, Queueable Apex, platform events, transaction management, and governor limits.
- Ensure code follows bulkification, security, exception-handling, testability, and performance best practices.
- Review complex implementations and guide developers in resolving technical issues.
- Participate directly in critical development activities, production troubleshooting, and performance optimization when necessary.
3. Salesforce Data Modeling and Governance:
- Design scalable Salesforce data models using standard and custom objects, appropriate relationships, and well-defined ownership and sharing strategies.
- Define data mastership, external identifiers, deduplication, matching, data migration, and reconciliation approaches.
- Design data models that support global customer identities, B2B relationships, B2C customer journeys, and country-specific business requirements.
- Ensure appropriate data access, privacy, auditability, and regulatory considerations are incorporated into the architecture.
4. Integration Architecture:
- Design and govern integrations between Salesforce and enterprise platforms such as SAP, customer portals, identity providers, middleware, and marketing platforms.
- Define suitable integration patterns using REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, and middleware where appropriate.
- Address authentication, authorization, idempotency, retries, error handling, monitoring, reconciliation, and integration resilience.
- Collaborate with enterprise integration and platform teams to manage dependencies, API contracts, release sequencing, and system-wide changes.
5. Global Platform and Release Governance:
- Support a global Salesforce platform operating across multiple countries and business markets.
- Balance global architecture standards with legitimate local business and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate the impact of changes across countries, applications, integrations, and downstream systems before approving designs.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders, development teams, QA, DevOps, security, and platform teams to ensure controlled delivery.
- Contribute to release planning, technical risk assessments, environment strategy, deployment readiness, and production stability.
- Prevent unnecessary customization and architectural fragmentation across markets.
6. Technical Leadership and Team Enablement:
- Provide technical direction and architectural guidance to Salesforce developers, technical leads, QA engineers, and integration teams.
- Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, design walkthroughs, and technical knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Establish development standards and reusable patterns that improve code quality, maintainability, and developer productivity.
- Mentor team members and support technical decision-making across distributed teams.
- Communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
7. Platform Evolution and Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluate new Salesforce capabilities and recommend adoption based on business value, technical fit, and platform strategy.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce technical debt, simplify integrations, and optimize delivery costs.
- Contribute to Salesforce platform roadmaps and long-term architecture decisions.
- Support production incident analysis and implement sustainable solutions that prevent recurring issues.
Required Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Salesforce Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with Apex, Triggers, LWC, SOQL, Salesforce security, and declarative automation.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce data modeling, sharing and visibility, governor limits, transaction boundaries, and platform architecture.
- Experience designing enterprise integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and asynchronous or event-driven patterns.
- Understanding of integration resilience, error handling, monitoring, data reconciliation, and API security.
- Experience with Salesforce deployments, source control, CI/CD, and release management.
- Familiarity with enterprise identity and access management, SSO, OAuth, and external identity solutions.
- Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and validate architectural decisions through working code or prototypes.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and customer engagement integrations.
- Exposure to Salesforce Data Cloud and/or Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP integrations.
- Experience with middleware and integration platforms such as MuleSoft, SnapLogic, Informatica, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with multi-country Salesforce implementations and global platform governance.
- Experience with Experience Cloud portals, external users, customer identity, and large-scale customer data management.
- Familiarity with consent management, customer data privacy, and market-specific regulatory requirements.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Typically 10+ years of Salesforce or relevant enterprise CRM experience.
- Demonstrated experience owning solution architecture for complex Salesforce implementations.
- Proven experience leading technical teams and collaborating across business and technology functions.
- Salesforce Application Architect certification preferred; System Architect or relevant advanced certifications are an advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.
Success Criteria:
- Deliver scalable and maintainable architecture aligned with enterprise standards.
- Make defensible design decisions with clear consideration of alternatives, risks, and trade-offs.
- Independently validate critical technical designs through code, prototypes, debugging, and code reviews.
- Minimize regression risk across existing systems, integrations, and country implementations.
- Improve engineering standards and enable development teams to deliver consistently.
- Maintain a balance between architectural leadership and hands-on technical contribution.
Role Expectation:
This is an architecture-led role with hands-on technical responsibilities. The candidate is not expected to spend every day implementing features, but must be capable of independently writing and debugging Apex and related Salesforce code when complex technical challenges, critical issues, or architectural validation require it.
