Sales Manager Job Description

About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented Sales Manager to lead and inspire our sales team.

In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, managing the entire sales cycle, setting and tracking performance targets, and ultimately driving the team to meet or exceed revenue goals.

You will combine strong leadership skills with a deep understanding of the market and our product/service offerings.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of sales representatives to improve their performance, develop their skills, and achieve individual quotas.

- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and sales training sessions.

- Foster a positive, results-driven, and high-performance team culture.

- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand the customer base and ensure the company's strong presence in the market.

- Set monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the team and individual representatives.

- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to adjust sales strategies accordingly.

- Oversee the entire sales pipeline, from lead generation and qualification to negotiation and closing.

- Ensure the sales team adheres to established sales processes and utilizes the CRM system effectively to manage leads and opportunities.

- Assist the team in complex negotiations and deal closures.

- Track and analyze team performance data, key sales metrics (e.g., conversion rates, average deal size, win rate), and sales forecasts.

- Prepare accurate and timely sales reports and presentations for senior management, providing actionable insights into performance.

- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, especially with key accounts.

- Collaborate closely with Marketing to ensure alignment on lead generation campaigns and materials.

- Work with Product/Service teams to relay customer feedback and market demands for future development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 2+ years in a Sales Management or Team Lead role.

- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a high-performing sales team.

- Strategic Planning: Strong experience in developing and implementing successful sales strategies and business plans.

- CRM Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics 365) for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.

- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation and negotiation abilities.

- Data Analysis: Demonstrated ability to use data and sales metrics to drive decision-making and performance optimization
