The Head of Sales & Marketing will be a strategic leader responsible for driving revenue growth, enhancing market share, and significantly improving the bottom line across our PAN India and international markets. This role demands a strong focus on developing and executing robust sales and marketing strategies, with a particular emphasis on strategic pricing initiatives, especially for existing customers, and overall P&L management to ensure sustainable profitability. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market dynamics, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of achieving aggressive sales and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales & Market Development (PAN India & Overseas):
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve ambitious revenue targets across domestic and international markets.
- Identify and penetrate new markets and customer segments, both within India and globally.
- Oversee the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
Pricing Strategy & Profitability Enhancement (Key Focus):
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic pricing models, with a primary objective of increasing price realization from existing customer accounts.
- Conduct thorough market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and cost analysis to optimize pricing structures.
- Collaborate closely with product development, finance, and operations teams to ensure pricing strategies align with product value and profitability goals.
- Monitor pricing performance and adjust strategies as necessary to maximize revenue and margin.
Marketing & Brand Leadership:
- Formulate and execute marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility, drive demand, and support sales objectives.
- Oversee digital marketing, content creation, campaigns, and promotional activities.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all channels.
P&L Management & Bottom Line Growth:
- Take full ownership of the Sales & Marketing P&L, with direct accountability for revenue generation, cost management, and significant bottom-line improvement.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the sales and marketing functions.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost optimization within the sales and marketing framework.
Key Account Management & Customer Relationship Building:
- Foster and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key existing customers, focusing on value creation and strategic partnerships to facilitate price increases.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales and marketing team.
- Set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer- centricity.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis:
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and potential threats.
- Provide strategic insights to senior management for business planning and decision-making.
Competencies:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 18+ years of progressive experience in Sales and Marketing leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior management position (e.g., Head of Sales, VP Sales & Marketing). Demonstrated track record of successfully implementing pricing strategies and achieving significant price increases with existing customer bases. Proven experience in managing P&L and driving bottom-line growth. Extensive experience in both PAN India and international markets is essential. Experience in Manufacturing, automotive components, industrial is a strong plus.
