Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Sales Head to lead our FMCG operations in Nigeria, driving aggressive market expansion and brand penetration across the region. In this capacity, you will oversee the entire sales ecosystem, from strategic planning and distributor management to the execution of high-impact trade marketing initiatives. You will work closely with the regional leadership team, supply chain heads, and key retail partners to ensure seamless product availability and market dominance. By translating high-level business objectives into actionable sales strategies, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our revenue streams and strengthening our competitive positioning in a dynamic, high-growth market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve top-line growth and market share targets across diverse Nigerian territories.
- Manage and optimize the distribution network to ensure deep market penetration and efficient product reach in both urban and rural retail segments.
- Lead and mentor high-performing sales teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence to drive consistent performance against KPIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and logistics, to align product availability with consumer demand and promotional cycles.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to refine sales planning, ensuring the business remains agile and responsive to shifting consumer behaviors.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale FMCG sales operations, with a proven track record of scaling businesses in emerging or complex markets.
- Exceptional ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with distributors, key accounts, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth business operations.
- Strong analytical mindset for sales planning, capable of interpreting complex market data to drive data-backed decision-making.
- Superior leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence diverse teams and navigate the cultural nuances of the Nigerian business landscape.
- A Masters degree in Business Administration or a related field from a premier institute is highly preferred.
- High degree of adaptability and resilience, with a willingness to operate on-site in Nigeria to lead teams directly and manage ground-level execution effectively.
