Role Summary:

- The Director - SCM will be responsible for leading and transforming the complete Supply Chain function across all Sai India and overseas locations.

- This includes sourcing, procurement, logistics, vendor management, supply relationship management, and the development of robust SCM systems.

- The role focuses on delivering world-class efficiency, cost optimization, compliance, and customer satisfaction while driving strategic partnerships and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supply Chain Leadership & Strategy:

- Own and lead end-to-end supply chain activities-including customer quotations, sourcing, procurement, logistics, and supplier relationship management-for all domestic and international locations.

- Develop, implement, and sustain world-class, lean, and scalable SCM processes and systems aligned with organizational growth.

- Drive operational excellence and ensure alignment with business objectives related to delivery performance, profitability, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Sourcing & Procurement Excellence:

- Design and manage seamless, value-driven sourcing and procurement processes to consistently meet end-customer expectations.

- Ensure the timely supply of right-quality direct and indirect materials at competitive prices to enhance organizational performance.

- Establish and maintain transparent supplier selection, qualification, onboarding, and evaluation processes.

- Build and nurture strategic partnerships with critical supply partners to strengthen long-term collaboration and reliability.

Performance, Quality & Compliance:

- Ensure sustained internal and external customer satisfaction by improving product quality, procurement standards, and delivery timelines.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address regulatory deficiencies related to the supply chain and ensure readiness for inspections.

- Oversee vendor qualification and compliance in line with cGMP and other applicable regulatory requirements.

- Participate actively in customer audits, internal audits, and regulatory inspections.

Cost Management & Budgeting:

- Develop the annual direct spend budget, drive cost-saving initiatives, and optimize procurement strategies.

- Identify and implement new initiatives to improve sourcing efficiency, reduce total cost of ownership (TCO), and support organizational growth.

People Development & Change Management:

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing SCM team capable of supporting global operations.

- Implement individual and team development plans to enhance capability, accountability, and functional excellence.

- Foster a culture of agility, continuous learning, and adaptability to effectively respond to evolving business dynamics.

Supply Relationship Management:

- Maintain robust and transparent relationships with suppliers, ensuring alignment of expectations, performance metrics, and long-term goals.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement, vendor performance, and supply chain processes.

Key Competencies & Skills:

- Strong leadership with the ability to manage global SCM operations.

- Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, logistics, and vendor management.

- Excellent understanding of cGMP requirements and regulatory compliance.

- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.

- Demonstrated ability to build high-performance teams.
