Summary of the Role:
- The Presales - AGM will be responsible for end-to-end management of RFPs/QIFs-including evaluation, coordination with cross-functional teams (CFT), proposal development, costing, and submission.
- The role requires strong technical understanding, commercial acumen, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, with the objective of converting opportunities into successful business wins.
Key Responsibilities:
1. RFP Review & Response Management:
- Thoroughly study and interpret technical packages (QIF/RFX) to understand customer requirements.
- Organize and lead CFT meetings (R&D, PE/PPIC, AR&D, SCM, IP, RA, QA, HSE, Projects) once the RFP/QIF is floated and ensure alignment on scope, feasibility, and timelines.
- Coordinate with BD teams to clarify customer queries and ensure all information is accurately captured.
- Evaluate raw material costing, process feasibility, and commercial viability in comparison with market benchmarks.
- Prepare competitive quotes and finalize pricing in conjunction with CFT and senior leadership.
- Develop and submit comprehensive business proposals outlining process chemistry, manufacturing strategy, delivery commitments, and commercial terms & conditions.
MIS & Reporting:
- Track and monitor the status and results of all RFP's.
- Compile periodic MIS reports with key insights and updates for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of all tracking metrics related to proposals and conversions.
Database & Documentation Management:
- Ensure systematic archival of all RFP-related documents, costing sheets, communications, and approvals in shared drives.
- Maintain an organized, audit-ready database for quick reference and compliance.
Project Handover & Kick-Off Coordination:
- Provide complete handover of proposal details and related documentation to the Project Execution team upon award.
- Coordinate with Finance and CFT teams for timely project code creation once the PO is received.
- Support kick-off meetings and ensure smooth transition from presales to execution.
Key Competencies:
Technical & Functional Competencies:
- Strong understanding of the presales lifecycle, especially RFP/QIF processes.
- Sound knowledge of chemistry, synthetic processes, and unit operations.
- Strong business, commercial, and cost-evaluation orientation.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook).
- Excellent ability to collaborate with diverse technical and functional teams.
