Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced insurance professional to lead Reinsurance, Surety and Credit Risk. The role will be responsible for underwriting complex risks, developing reinsurance solutions, negotiating rates and capacity, managing market relationships, and building a strong technical team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end reinsurance placement, including market approach, capacity, pricing, terms, conditions and documentation.

- Lead underwriting of Surety Bonds and Credit Insurance across MSME, mid-market and corporate clients.

- Conduct detailed financial analysis, credit assessment and risk evaluation of borrowers and counterparties.

- Structure appropriate insurance and reinsurance solutions for complex corporate and specialty risks.

- Lead rate, pricing and terms negotiations with insurers, reinsurers and capacity providers.

- Negotiate capacity, limits, premiums, commissions, collateral, tenor and coverage terms.

- Build and manage strong relationships with domestic and international reinsurers, insurers and other market participants.

- Manage direct insurance placement and related reinsurance arrangements.

- Drive business development for Surety, Credit Insurance and Specialty Risk solutions in collaboration with the sales team.

- Establish robust underwriting, pricing, placement and risk management processes.

- Leverage risk scorecards, financial models and technology-enabled assessment tools to improve underwriting quality and decision-making.

- Monitor portfolio performance, exposure and concentration risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal risk policies and underwriting guidelines.

- Work with senior management on reinsurance strategy, risk appetite, market development and new product opportunities.

- Build, lead and develop a high-performing Reinsurance, Surety & Credit Risk team.

- Hire, mentor and develop underwriting and placement professionals and strengthen technical capabilities.

Ideal Candidate:

- Strong experience in Reinsurance, Surety, Credit Insurance and/or Speciality Risks.

- Strong understanding of financial analysis, credit underwriting and risk assessment.

- Proven experience in rate, pricing and capacity negotiations.

- Strong domestic and international insurance/reinsurance market relationships.

- Excellent commercial, analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience in team building and leadership with the ability to develop a high-performing technical function.
