Role Overview:

SAEL is seeking an accomplished and visionary Head - Logistics to lead its extensive logistics and supply chain operations. This pivotal role involves orchestrating the seamless movement of goods, materials, and equipment across domestic and international borders, ensuring optimal efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance. The incumbent will work closely with senior leadership, procurement, manufacturing, and sales teams, as well as a vast network of external partners, to build a resilient and agile supply chain that directly contributes to SAEL's strategic objectives and market leadership. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, mitigating risks, and enhancing customer satisfaction through superior logistics performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute comprehensive logistics and supply chain strategies that align with SAEL's business goals, optimizing end-to-end material flow and distribution networks.

- Drive significant cost control initiatives across freight, warehousing, transportation, and customs operations, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and negotiating favorable terms with vendors.

- Oversee all aspects of export and import operations, ensuring stringent adherence to global trade compliance regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping laws to prevent delays and penalties.

- Manage and optimize freight forwarding activities, including carrier selection, route planning, and contract negotiation, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

- Implement and leverage advanced data analytics tools and ERP systems, particularly SAP, to monitor logistics performance, identify trends, forecast demand, and inform strategic decision-making.

- Establish and maintain robust vendor management processes, evaluating performance, fostering strong relationships with logistics partners, and ensuring service level agreements are met.

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.

- Identify and mitigate potential risks within the supply chain, including geopolitical, economic, and operational disruptions, to ensure business continuity.

- Drive process standardization and automation initiatives across logistics functions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in leading large-scale logistics and supply chain operations, with a deep understanding of international trade, freight management, and customs regulations.

- Proven ability to drive significant cost optimization and efficiency improvements across complex logistics networks through strategic planning and negotiation.

- Strong command over trade compliance, export/import procedures, and documentation for diverse product categories and geographies.

- Proficiency in leveraging data analytics for performance measurement, predictive modeling, and strategic decision-making within logistics.

- Extensive experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, for managing logistics, inventory, and procurement processes.

- Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

- Superior negotiation, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement skills to foster collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.

- Strategic thinking with a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation in a dynamic global supply chain environment.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field from a premier institution.

- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, based out of Delhi NCR.
