Position Details
Designation: Associate / Manager - Mergers & Acquisitions & Strategy
Location: Delhi (Corporate Office)
Reporting To: Chief Strategy Officer
Role Purpose :
To drive SAEL's inorganic growth strategy by identifying, evaluating, and executing M&A opportunities, while supporting corporate strategy initiatives across the renewable energy portfolio (biomass, solar, and allied businesses).
Key Responsibilities :
1. Mergers & Acquisitions
- Identify and evaluate acquisition, JV, and partnership opportunities in the renewable energy sector
- Develop detailed financial models
- Lead and coordinate due diligence (financial, commercial, legal, technical) with internal and external stakeholders
- Support deal structuring, negotiations, documentation, and closure
2. Strategy & Growth Initiatives
- Support leadership in corporate strategy, expansion planning, and market entry decisions
- Conduct industry analysis, competitor benchmarking, and policy tracking
- Develop strategic business cases and investment proposals
3. Financial & Commercial Evaluation
- Evaluate project viability and returns for emerging energy assets
- Analyze regulatory frameworks, tariffs, and state/central policies impacting business decisions
- Track performance of acquired/ongoing assets and provide actionable insights
4. Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with investment bankers, consultants, legal advisors, and internal teams
- Prepare investment memos, IC notes, and Board presentations
- Work closely with senior leadership on high-impact strategic projects
Eligibility Criteria :
Education :
- CA / MBA (Finance/Strategy) / CFA
- Full-time graduation mandatory
Experience :
4-5 years of relevant experience in :
- Investment Banking (M&A / Advisory), OR Corporate M&A / Strategy roles in Energy / Infrastructure sector
