RPG Life Sciences - Manager - ESG

Job Summary :

The ESG Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization's Environmental, Social, and Governance strategy. This role ensures that the company's operations align with regulatory standards, stakeholder expectations, and global sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection & Analysis:

- Implement systems to collect and track ESG data (e.g., emissions, diversity metrics, governance indicators).

- Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.

Environmental Compliance:

- Monitor and manage pharma manufacturing emissions, waste treatment, and energy use.

- Ensure compliance with pollution control norms, hazardous waste rules, and pharmaceutical effluent standards (e.g., CPCB/SPCB guidelines in India).

- Promote clean technology adoption and energy-efficient processes (e.g., green solvents, HVAC optimization).

ESG Reporting & Ratings:

- Publish ESG disclosures per BRSR (India), GRI, SASB (Pharma sector standard), and TCFD guidelines.

- Respond to ESG rating agencies (e.g., Sustainalytics, MSCI) and investor queries.

- Coordinate ESG assurance and third-party audits.

Project & Initiative Management:

- Lead cross-functional ESG projects (carbon reduction, ethical sourcing, social impact programs).

- Collaborate with HR, Procurement, Operations, and Legal for implementation.

Education:

- Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability or Chemistry.

Technical Skills:

- Understanding of pharma manufacturing processes, GxP, GMP.

- ESG reporting frameworks: SASB (Health Care), GRI 403/306/413, BRSR.

- Familiarity with pharma regulatory frameworks: CDSCO, US FDA, EU EMA, WHO-GMP.

- Experience with ESG analytics tools (e.g., Enablon, EcoVadis, Sphera).

Soft Skills:

- Stakeholder communication (Board, regulators, investors).

- Project management across cross-functional teams.

- Analytical mindset for ESG metrics and gap analysis.
