Job Title/Position : Head HR Department Human Resources


Position : Sr. Manager / Chief Manager


Location : Rajkot


Reporting to (position) : Business Head


Direct Reportees : (Nos) 3-4


Key Specifications : Must have exposure in Factory as well as Sales HR Function


Purpose Statement/Position Overview:


The Head - Human Resources will lead and manage the HR function across manufacturing operations and the field sales team. This role is responsible for driving HR strategies aligned with business objectives, addressing the unique needs of both factory workforce and sales personnel, ensuring statutory compliance, enhancing organizational capability, managing performance systems, and building a performance-driven culture.

Key Role & Responsibilities:


Talent Acquisition & Manpower Planning:


- Forecast manpower needs across plant and sales functions with proper manpower planning & AOP
Budgeting as per business requirement.

- Ensure timely hiring and onboarding in line with desired TAT and business cycles.

- Manage end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, including third-party contract labor as needed.

Sales Team HR Management:


- Analyze sales team attrition trends and develop retention strategies.


- Partner with Sales Heads and other stakeholders to support field staff with solutions tailored to business needs & priorities.


- Lead capability-building initiatives (training, upskilling, and leadership development).


- Ensure timely payouts of employee rewards, Sales incentives etc

Payroll & Compensation:


- Oversee accurate and timely payroll for all employee categories, including contractors.


- Ensure correct deductions, timely filings (PF, ESI, TDS), and adherence to wage regulations.


- Benchmark compensation structures against industry standards/ surrounding competitors and suggest revisions where required.

Factory HR, Admin & Labor Management:


- Ensure smooth IR (Industrial Relations) through proactive engagement with workers, and contract labor.


- Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in line with labor laws.


- Manage compliance under Factories Act, CLRA, ESI, PF, IDA etc.


- Drive employee welfare, engagement, and retention initiatives at the plant level like periodic events etc.


- Develop highest standards of facility management, housekeeping, security & safety for employees and assets of the organisation

Statutory Compliance & Legal Affairs:


- Ensure statutory compliance across factory and field operations in line with standards and annual plans.


- Handle labor inspector & Factory Inspector visits, government audits, and ensure timely filings of returns and documentation.


- Liaise with legal counsel, local police on disputes, notices, or compliance issues.

Capability Building & Training:


- Identify skill gaps and implement training interventions for employees, workers and the sales force.


- Coordinate & implement technical, behavioral, safety, and compliance training programs.


- Build and institutionalize a culture of continuous learning .

Performance Management System (PMS):


- Design, implement, and continuously improve a transparent and measurable performance management system so as to align individual KPIs with business goals for both plant and sales functions.


- Facilitate regular performance reviews, feedback sessions, and development planning.


- Work with managers to drive a high-performance culture through fair appraisals, goal-setting, and accountability.


- Integrate PMS outcomes with rewards, promotions, and career progression plans.

HR Budgeting & MIS:


- Prepare annual HR budgets covering headcount, hiring, benefits, Admin, L&D, etc.


- Generate and present HR dashboards for leadership decision-making.


- Maintain up-to-date HR documentation and compliance records.


- Monitor budget, utilize operational resources optimally and mobilize resources as per business requirement


Internal & External Relationship:

- Department / Agency Purpose of Interaction Frequency SOs/ASMs/RSMs To support HR initiatives related to retention, performance, capability building, and motivation of sales teams Regular Plant Managers, Supervisors To manage factory HR, labor issues, welfare initiatives, and compliance on the shop floor Regular

- Functional Heads/ Managers To align HR strategy with business objectives, coordinate manpower planning, performance reviews, and training needs Regular Legal & Compliance Advisors To ensure all employment and labor-related legal matters are addressed timely and effectively As Needed


- Recruitment & Training Agencies To support timely hiring, onboarding, and execution of capability development programs As Needed

Job Specification:


Experience in Years:


- 10+ Years of experience preferably in FMCG or manufacturing sectors with min 5+ years at a Leadership position with a combination of Corporate & Plant Exposure


Qualification: MBA / PGDM in HR from a recognized institute.


Remarks:


- Must have experience managing both plant-based and sales workforce HR challenges.


- Understanding of FMCG sales and distribution

- Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities

Competencies/ Attributes:


- Strong leadership and people management skills

- Strong Commercial Acumen, Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.


- Ability to understand local (Gujarati) language is an advantage.

- Demonstrated success in reducing attrition and improving productivity
