Position: Business Development Manager - International Business
Location: Kolkata
Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and growth-driven Business Development Manager to scale our Guiltfree Brand in the International Market. This role will focus on expanding market presence, driving revenue, and building strong customer relationships in the packaged food ecosystem, with a sharp understanding of evolving consumer preferences toward health and wellness.
Reporting To Export Head (General Manager)
Key Responsibilities
Business Expansion & Market Development:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across domestic and/or international markets for the healthy snacks category
- Drive expansion through General Trade, Modern Trade, E-commerce, and Institutional channels
- Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competition within the packaged food segment
- Identify emerging health trends (low-calorie, protein-rich, organic, etc.) to support category growth
Sales & Revenue Delivery:
- Achieve sales targets aligned with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
- Drive growth from existing accounts while onboarding new clients/distributors
- Execute pricing, promotion, and placement strategies in coordination with internal teams
- Ensure strong visibility and availability across channels
Key Account & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, modern trade chains, and key accounts
- Collaborate with customers on promotions, activations, and category development initiatives
- Ensure seamless order management, timely deliveries, and high service levels
Category & Product Understanding:
- Demonstrate strong understanding of the packaged food business, especially in snacks or health-focused categories
- Work closely with marketing and product teams to align on product positioning, packaging, and communication
- Provide market feedback on product performance, competition, and consumer acceptance
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations for smooth execution
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and documentation requirements (especially for exports, if applicable)
- Support new product launches and go-to-market strategies
Key Requirements
Education - MBA in Marketing / Sales / FMCG Management (Preferred) / Any Graduate
Experience:
- 8-18 years of experience in Business Development / Sales
- Strong background in FMCG, specifically Packaged Food / Snacks / Healthy Food categories
- Experience handling multiple channels (GT, MT, E-commerce) is highly preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of packaged food business dynamics
- Excellent sales acumen and negotiation skills
- Consumer-first mindset with awareness of health & wellness trends
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
