Position Summary:


The Demand & Supply Planner - MT/INSTI Channel is a mission-critical role responsible for ensuring high service levels, optimal inventory cover, and seamless replenishment across Modern Trade chains and Institutional accounts.

The role acts as the control tower between Sales, Production Planning, Dispatch, Logistics, and CFAs to proactively monitor POS trends, inventory gaps, and replenishment cycles. The incumbent ensures SLA adherence, mitigates stock-out risks, drives timely stock movement (STOs).


This role directly impacts revenue realization, on-shelf availability, customer SLAs, and working capital efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor daily POS trends, secondary sales, and inventory cover across MT/INSTI accounts.


- Proactively trigger replenishment and stock balancing before stock-out risk.


- Analyse spikes vs forecast and flag risks to S&OP team.


- Maintain inventory cover as per defined norms (channel-wise & SKU-wise).


- Ensure optimal stock rotation to minimize expiry risk.


- Initiate inter-depot stock transfers to correct regional imbalances.


- Track aging inventory and take corrective actions.


- Coordinate with Production Planning for priority SKU allocation.


- Share dispatch plan aligned to MT billing windows & SLA cut-offs.


- Ensure truck placement readiness and dispatch sequencing.


- Monitor execution vs plan and take corrective action.


- Raise STOs based on gap analysis.


- Coordinate with logistics team for vehicle placement and route optimization.


- Ensure timely GRN and billing support for uninterrupted supply.


- Monitor transit lead times and escalate delays.


- Track order fill rates (SKU-wise & account-wise).


- Escalate risks to respective teams (Planning / Production / Sales / Logistics).


- Drive cross-functional resolution during exigencies.


- Ensure adherence to MT SLA commitments.


- Act as first point of escalation for supply disruptions.


- Lead daily supply review huddles for MT channel.


- Maintain risk dashboard (short supply, aging, transit delays).


- Ensure zero surprise to Sales & Key Account Managers.

Educational Qualification, Work experience & Key Competencies:

Educational qualifications:

- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain / Operations / Analytics preferred


- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, or related field


Work experience:

- 4 to 6 years of experience in Demand Planning / Sales Forecasting / Supply Chain Analytics


- Experience handling high SKU complexity and multi-channel distribution


- Hands-on experience with planning tools (SAP/APO/IBP/Advanced Excel/Power BI)
