Job description: Head of accounts and finance at Rooman Technologies.

Role and responsibilities:

The Head of Accounts and Finance at Rooman Technologies will be responsible for overseeing the financial health and stability of the company.

This includes managing all aspects of the finance and accounting functions, from day-to-day operations to strategic planning and decision support.

Key responsibilities are likely to include:

- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Leading the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes to provide insights into the company's financial performance and guide decision-making.

- Accounting Operations: Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger, payroll, and the monthly and year-end closing processes.

- Financial Reporting: Ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and analysis of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and Management Information Systems (MIS) reports, and communicating complex financial information effectively to stakeholders.

- Compliance & Risk Management: Overseeing GST, TDS, income tax filings, and other statutory compliances, as well as developing and maintaining strong internal controls, identifying and mitigating financial risks, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and tax regulations.

- Audit Management: Coordinating and supporting internal and external audits and handling income tax assessments and scrutiny.

- Treasury Management & Funding: Managing cash flow, investments, foreign exchange hedging, and treasury planning, as well as leading fundraising efforts, such as venture capital, debt financing, and IPOs.

- Strategic Decision Support: Providing financial thought leadership and partnering with other departments to provide financial insights and guide decision-making.

- Team Leadership & Development: Leading, mentoring, and developing the finance and accounting team.

- Relationships: Maintaining strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, vendors, and auditors.

Qualifications and experience:

- Strong educational background in accounting or finance (e.g., M.Com, MBA in Finance, CMA/CA or equivalent).

- Significant experience (e.g., 7-10 years, with at least 5 years in a leadership role) in finance and accounting, preferably in a tech or startup environment.

- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally ERP, Zoho Books, or similar) and MS Excel.

- Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, TDS, and other tax regulations.

- Proven ability to build and scale finance functions in a high-growth environment.

- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
