Job Description:

Role & responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee the organizations regulatory compliance and governance framework.

- Ensure compliance with applicable RBI, NHB and other regulatory guidelines relevant to NBFC/HFC operations.

- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.

- Drive timely implementation of new and amended regulatory requirements.

- Establish and strengthen compliance monitoring, testing, and reporting mechanisms.

- Conduct compliance risk assessments and identify potential regulatory gaps.

- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely closure of audit observations.

- Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory returns and compliance reports within prescribed timelines.

- Provide compliance advisory to senior management and business/function heads.

- Manage regulatory inspections, queries, observations, and follow-up actions.

- Develop and update compliance policies, SOPs, frameworks, and governance processes.

- Work closely with Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, Operations, Business, and other stakeholders.

- Ensure effective tracking and closure of compliance issues and action points.

- Present key compliance risks, regulatory updates, and governance matters to senior management/committees.

Preferred candidate profile:

- Strong experience in Regulatory Compliance & Corporate Governance.

- Sound understanding of RBI/NHB regulations and the HFC/NBFC regulatory framework.

- Experience in compliance monitoring, regulatory risk assessment, audits, and regulatory reporting.

- Strong analytical, advisory, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Ability to work closely with senior leadership and provide practical compliance guidance.

- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to the BFSI sector.

- Candidates from HFC / NBFC / Banking / BFSI backgrounds will be preferred.

- Relevant professional qualifications such as CA / CS / MBA / LLB will be an added advantage.
