Role:
This is an excellent job opportunity for candidates who aspire to work in an analytical, dynamic and fast paced investment and financial research role. The role will provide opportunities to work and interact with analysts of leading investment banks, brokerage houses and M&A advisors in North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.We are looking for a highly passionate and self-driven candidate with experience across multiple facets of financial research to lead delivery of work within our financial research vertical.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain robust Excel-based financial models, including integrated 3-statement models, forecasting schedules, and scenario/sensitivity analysis to support transaction and investment decisions.
- Lead DCF valuation workstreams end-to-end, including projecting unlevered free cash flows, estimating terminal value using perpetuity growth and/or exit multiple methods, discounting cash flows using WACC, and bridging enterprise value to equity value.
- Build LBO models to evaluate sponsor-style transactions, including sources & uses, debt schedules, paydown mechanics, operating projections, and returns analysis across scenarios using IRR and MoM.
- Conduct trading comparables and precedent transaction analyses to triangulate valuation ranges and support pricing and multiple selection.
- Normalize and reconcile financial statements, including one-offs, run-rate adjustments, and accounting consistency checks, while maintaining clear assumptions and source documentation.
- Perform rigorous model QA, including linkage checks, balance sheet balancing, circularity management, error flags, and version control to ensure audit-ready outputs under tight deadlines.
- Develop driver-based models grounded in a strong understanding of the underlying business model, commercial model, and operating KPIs of the company.
- Analyze key revenue drivers such as pricing, volume, utilization, customer mix, product/service mix, market expansion, and conversion assumptions, and translate them into robust forecasting inputs.
- Evaluate key cost and profitability drivers, including fixed versus variable costs, operating leverage, input cost movements, headcount, and margin behavior across different scenarios.
- Assess how company business model, competitive positioning, and industry dynamics influence growth, cost efficiency, cash flow generation, and valuation outcomes.
- Manage end-to-end delivery of financial research engagements, including understanding project specifications, overseeing deliverable preparation, and driving extensive client engagement.
- Produce client-ready materials in Excel and PowerPoint, including valuation outputs, returns tables, sensitivity analyses, and key charts, with high attention to accuracy and presentation quality.
- Collaborate with research and senior team members to incorporate market inputs such as growth assumptions, margins, multiples, and cost of capital drivers, and align the model narrative with the investment thesis.
- Work closely with internal and client stakeholders to understand the company's business model and ensure that financial outputs reflect underlying operational realities and strategic priorities.
- Partner with senior internal stakeholders to generate ideas for new business development and support execution of BD campaigns, creation of marketing collateral, and participation in client meetings.
- Contribute to firm-level initiatives such as knowledge management, training, recruitment and selection, internal process development, and capability building.
- Lead, coach, and evaluate direct reports, while fostering a culture of ownership, quality, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Candidate Profile:
- Commerce Graduate, MBA in Finance, or CA; CFA Level 2 or Level 3 preferred.
- 9-12 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, valuation, private equity support, transaction advisory, or financial modeling roles with demonstrable DCF and LBO exposure.
- At least 4 years of experience in managing teams, leading projects, and handling client relationships.
- Strong command of accounting and financial statements, with the ability to translate operating and commercial drivers into financial forecasts.
- Strong understanding of company business models and value drivers, with the ability to link strategic and operational assumptions to financial performance and valuation.
- Hands-on experience in analyzing revenue drivers, cost structures, margins, and operating levers across different sectors and business models.
- Strong DCF skills, including free cash flow build-up, WACC concepts, terminal value methodologies, and sensitivity design.
- Strong LBO skills, including sources & uses, debt sculpting/paydown, exit assumptions, and IRR/MoM returns analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills, including clean model structuring, transparent formulas, data tables, and disciplined model design.
- Strong PowerPoint skills for preparing client-facing deliverables.
- Proficiency in financial information databases such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, and Capital IQ.
- High ownership and strong attention to detail, with the ability to deliver accurate, error-free work under time pressure.
- Strong people management and coaching capability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
- Adaptability, openness to feedback, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in teams.
