
- Conduct comprehensive financial and operational analysis of companies, credit instruments, and investment opportunities across assigned sectors/themes, with particular focus on Middle East, US and UK as relevant.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models (DCF, comparable valuations, credit risk frameworks, LBO analysis) to support investment theses and portfolio construction.
- Perform multi-scenario stress testing and sensitivity analysis to quantify downside risks, default probabilities, and return expectations across economic cycles.
- Synthesize macroeconomic, sector, and microeconomic data to build robust investment narratives that differentiate from consensus.
- Prepare investment committee memos, pitch decks, and recommendation reports (buy/hold/sell/reduce) tailored for portfolio managers, CIOs, and institutional clients.
- Present investment ideas verbally with strong visual storytelling, translating complex quantitative analysis into compelling narratives for audiences with varying levels of financial sophistication.
- Monitor and update investment theses quarterly, incorporating earnings revisions, management guidance, regulatory changes, and market developments.
- Manage relationships with portfolio companies / credit issuers through quarterly calls, annual report reviews, and management meetings.
- Attend and actively participate in company earnings calls, industry conferences, and investor forums; synthesize insights for internal teams.
- Respond to ad-hoc research requests from clients and portfolio managers with turnaround times of 24-48 hours.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams on research-driven thought leadership and client engagement.
- Develop and publish deep-dive industry notes, thematic research, and thought leadership pieces that articulate forward-looking market views and support client engagement.
Candidate Profile
- CA / CFA / MBA Finance from leading B-Schools.
- 5+ years of experience in investment research, financial modelling, and valuation.
- Advanced Excel: VBA programming, power query, advanced formula construction; ability to build dynamic, scalable models.
- Data tools: Working knowledge of Python or R for data manipulation, statistical modeling, and exploratory data analysis. Familiarity with libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, Beautiful(Soup) and version control (Git).
- AI/ML & Automation: Practical experience with ChatGPT, Claude, or similar LLMs for accelerating research workflows.
- Data Visualization & Dashboard Design: Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to create compelling, interactive reports and dashboards.
- At least 2 years of experience in coaching and reviewing the outputs of junior team members.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, financial statements, ratios and valuation techniques, including DCF, LBO, SOTP, comparable valuation, etc.
- Excellent financial modeling and report writing skills with experience in writing information memorandums.
- Strong quantitative aptitude and ability to draw inferences from a set of numbers / financials.
- Experience in conducting management calls, expert interviews and in-depth secondary research.
- Proficiency in using financial information databases, such as Bloomberg, Thomson Eikon, Capital IQ, Merger Market, Factiva.
- Excellent data presentation and synthesis skills with attention to detail.
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
