Position Summary:

Roc360 is seeking a highly experienced Data Scientist to be part of the design, development, and deployment of analytics and machine learning solutions that directly support our real estate lending, underwriting, risk management, and portfolio optimization initiatives in the US. This role is based out of India, Chennai Office.

The role combines deep hands-on technical expertise, business partnership, and team development in India, but catering primarily to the US business.

The ideal candidate will act as a delivery champion, translating complex business problems into scalable data-driven solutions while supporting senior stakeholders across Credit, Risk, Product, Technology, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities:

- Support the global data team in implementing the data and advanced analytics roadmap aligned with Roc360's business and risk strategy.

- Partner with senior leadership (Credit, Risk, Finance, and Product) to identify high-impact use cases for predictive analytics and AI.

- Provide technical and people leadership to the data team in India

- Present insights, model outcomes, and recommendations to executive leadership in a clear and actionable manner.

2. Technical & Analytical Responsibilities:

- Lead the team's data analytics and data visualization functions, by producing and automating clean, well-managed data reports for business users.

- Manage data analytics pipelines and queries to optimize computational performance and user experience.

- Collaborate with the technology team as necessary to integrate analytics and data science solutions into production environments.

3. Data & Platform Responsibilities:

- Work with large, complex datasets including structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources.

- Guide data quality, data governance, and data architecture decisions in partnership with data engineering teams.

- Evaluate and adopt modern analytics tools, cloud platforms, and ML frameworks to improve scalability and efficiency

Skills Qualifications:

1. Core Technical Skills:

- Strong expertise in statistics, quantitative reasoning, data analytics, and data visualization.

- Ability to navigate and distill complex, dirty data sets into digestible, actionable narratives.

- Strong communication skills to discuss data with nontechnical stakeholders, and to mentor teammates to grow their technical and data storytelling skill sets.

- Working expertise in cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, and similar.

- Competence in dbt is a strong plus.

- Competence in MLOps workflows, such as model deployment and management, containerization and orchestration with tools such as Prefect, would be a plus.

- Working proficiency developing and validating machine learning models using business data

2. Business & Domain Skills:

- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate analytical insights into measurable business impact.

- Experience in financial services, lending, credit risk, real estate, or fintech is highly preferred.

- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive adoption of data-driven solutions.

3. Leadership & Communication Skills:

- Proven experience leading and mentoring high-performing data analytics teams.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.

- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Background & Experience:

- Overall 5+ years of exp in the same domain.

- Qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field would be an advantage.

- MLOps skill sets are a plus.

- Exposure to regulatory or compliance-driven analytics environments
