Risk Manager - Portfolio Management

Role Overview:

The Risk Manager acts as the second line of defense, providing independent oversight of the processes, risks, and controls undertaken by the front office (investment/portfolio management team).

The role is responsible for risk identification and quantification, exposure and limit monitoring, and ensuring adherence to the investment charter, policies, and SOPs.

The Risk Manager also strengthens the organization's broader risk governance framework by driving audit readiness, IC governance, documentation, and cross-functional process reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify areas of risk across investment and operational processes and design effective control mechanisms; review and update risk registers on a continuous basis in alignment with internal auditors.

- Perform risk quantification by analyzing and reviewing data presented for new investments and incremental capital proposals to existing portfolios via risk assessment notes.

- Lead quarterly portfolio review discussions across all investment buckets; review presentations from a risk perspective to identify and escalate material risk concerns, exceptions, or deviations not already addressed by the investment team.

- Review exposure and limit management, proposing changes to existing exposures and limits as defined in the investment charter, as needed.

- Contribute to reports and presentations on market conditions, asset allocation, and portfolio performance for management and the IC.
