Role Overview
We are looking for a Risk & Finance Reconciliation Specialist who will act as a critical bridge between Risk and Finance teams to ensure accurate and compliant Risk-Weighted Asset (RWA) computation. The role involves validating that regulator-approved methodologies are consistently applied across all exposure classes, along with driving automation initiatives to improve efficiency and control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate that regulatory-approved approaches are correctly implemented for RWA computation across all exposure classes.
- Perform reconciliation checks to ensure RWA is calculated using the correct Basel approach (Standardized / IRB, as applicable).
- Develop a high-level to detailed understanding of Basel frameworks and end-to-end RWA calculation logic.
- Act as a key liaison between Risk and Finance stakeholders, independently driving discussions, issue resolution, and sign-offs.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and control weaknesses in RWA calculations and reconciliation processes.
- Design and implement process automation to improve accuracy, reduce manual effort, and enhance controls.
- Prepare clear documentation, reconciliation summaries, and management-ready insights.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 56 years of experience in Risk, Finance, Regulatory Reporting, or RWA-related roles within Banking or Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of Basel regulations and how RWAs are computed across exposure classes.
- Hands-on experience with SAS for data analysis, validation, and automation (mandatory).
- Working knowledge of Python is a strong added advantage.
- Proven ability to work independently with multiple stakeholders across Risk and Finance.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory concepts clearly.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to regulatory exams, audits, or model validation reviews.
- Experience in automation, controls enhancement, or reconciliation frameworks.
- Familiarity with large banking data environments and regulatory datasets.
