Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Finance Head to lead the accounts and finance team of the organisation. The ideal candidate will be able to produce financial reports, manage investments & cash flow, analyse market trends, ensure compliance, prepare budgets and develop business strategies & plans for the long-term financial goals of their organisation.
A. Strategic Business Planning, Growth & Transformation
- Collaborate with business leaders to drive profitability, optimize cost structures, and influence business decisions.
- Support strategic initiatives with financial insights and risk assessments.
- Evaluate investments, new business models, pricing strategies, and expansion plans.
- Drive process improvements, digitization, and operational transformation initiatives.
- Promote innovation and change management across the organization.
B. Financial Reporting and P&L Management
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of all financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and deadlines.
- Maintain structured monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes to reflect the company's true financial position.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to meet targets.
- Ensure revenue growth, cost control, and sustainable profitability.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial needs to ensure smooth business operations.
C. Cost Control & Optimization
- Review cost structures, suggest operational efficiencies, and lead cost-reduction programs.
- Oversee product profitability, contribution margin analysis, and overhead recovery.
D. Audit, Compliance & Internal Controls
- Coordinate with external auditors during statutory audits and provide all necessary data and documentation.
- Manage year-end closing and ensure all reconciliations and reports are audit-ready.
- Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements, including GST, TDS, and statutory filings.
- Maintain and improve internal control systems to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
- Stay informed on regulatory changes and implement updates as required.
E. Team Management, Development and Cross-functional Collaboration
- Supervise and support the finance team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
- Promote a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
- Set clear goals, review performance, and support the team in adopting best practices in finance and accounting.
- Partner with operations, sales, HR, and product teams to ensure alignment between financial targets and business activities.
Requirements :
- CA (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent professional finance qualification is essential. MBA in Finance or General Management is preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and strategic planning abilities.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify key insights.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-stakeholder environments.
- Deep understanding of financial principles, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and financial analysis techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating a finance team.
