Job Summary : Rhythm Management Group is looking for an Associate Director/Senior Software Engineering Manager to become a vital member of the Engineering team. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall experience of software developers and SDETs as they work with the company's technology stack and infrastructure. This includes managing teams of engineers, delivery and defining processes and best practices for development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Duties/Responsibilities: - Deliver world-class security products of the highest quality utilizing agile engineering and DevOps practices - Develop and implement processes and best practices for software development, testing, deployment, and maintenance - Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of the company's applications - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical challenges and roadblocks - Mentor and coach up to 10 team members to help them reach their full potential - Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software development engineering - Ability to drive change through identifying bottlenecks, resolving blockers, and leading improvement opportunities - Experience with quality engineering, DevOps, and CI/CD - Work with the Product Managers on project planning and roadmap - Intellectually contribute to the software, data, process, and growth of other team members - Act as a scrum master for multiple functional teams - Collaborates with the other Software Managers and the Director of Software Engineering to create and evaluate department-wide process improvements and initiatives - Identifies and provides direction to support team members to modify behavior that could be adversely impacting group effectiveness and productivity - Proactively facilitates schedules, procures, and technical training for teams and individuals - Facilitates positive change in direct reports, department culture, and product development values - Encourages and supports others to take on responsibility, authority, and accountability - Recruit and retain top-tier software engineering talent - Responsible for new hire training and smooth transition into teams - Schedules and attends one-on-ones with direct reports, with regularity determined by the expressed needs of direct reports - Schedules, leads, and prepares content for regular performance discussions for direct reports - Performs other related duties as required Required Skills/Abilities: - Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a work setting for both onshore and offshore teams - Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, fluent in English - 10+ years of experience managing and leading technical employees preferably in SaaS based product companies - 5+ years of hands-on experience as a software development engineer - Experience leading by influence in multi-team, cross-functional projects - Working knowledge of agile engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated unit testing, automated acceptance testing, pair programming, feature teams, refactoring, collective code ownership, building in vertical slices, code reviews, etc - Experience with incremental delivery of features as part of a Software Development Life Cycle - Experience in a highly agile/scrum environment - A strong passion for bringing useful, useable, and highly desirable user experiences to life - A strong passion for consciously evolving and serving the customer Education and Experience: - BS / MS in Software Engineering or an equivalent degree - 15+ years of related experience required
