Job Summary: The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Finance & Accounting is a leadership role within an organization responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations and accounting functions. Responsibilities: Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and execute financial plans, budgets, and forecasts. Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements. Accounting Operations: Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll. Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures. Risk Management: Assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Monitor internal controls and compliance with financial regulations. Develop and maintain effective internal audit processes. Financial Strategy: Collaborate with executive management to develop financial strategies aligned with organizational goals. Provide guidance and recommendations on financial matters to support business growth and profitability. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals. Provide financial expertise and support during negotiations and business transactions. Qualifications: Education: A bachelor's/master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Professional Certification/Degree: A professional accounting designation such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is often desired. Experience: Several years of progressively responsible experience in finance and accounting roles, including managerial experience. Experience in a leadership role within a similar-sized organization is beneficial. Financial Acumen: Strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, accounting principles, and reporting standards. Familiarity with financial software systems and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis. Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, analyze complex financial data, and make informed decisions. Strong business acumen to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives. Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and people management abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
