
Job Title: Research Associate
Reporting To Director, Research and Innovation
Job Summary
The role of a Research Associate involves providing research support, assisting in legal knowledge development and supporting innovation projects and initiatives.
This role requires self-motivation, the ability to work collaboratively and independently, and a strong execution focus in a fast-paced environment.
The position will specifically focus on research across key domains including Capital Markets, Foreign Policy, Investment Laws, Cyber Law, and Family Law, aligned with the firms practice areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting of internal and external publications including position papers, policy advisory, articles, essays and knowledge management updates.
- Preparing and presenting research papers at conferences, seminars, and other professional forums.
- Author collaborative reports and projects on evolving areas of law, with a focus on Capital Markets, Foreign Policy, Investment, Cyber Law, and Family Law.
- Contributing to the preparation of policy papers and providing research support for legislative drafting initiatives.
- Monitoring and staying current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in legal research, academia, and policy development, and sharing relevant insights with the wider team.
- Supporting the firm's knowledge management function by maintaining and curating research databases, legal updates, and other internal resources.
- Contributing to innovation projects and initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 1-6 years of relevant experience in legal research and writing, academic and policy drafting.
- Demonstrated research experience with publications (peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed), with exposure to Capital Markets, Foreign Policy, Investment Law, Cyber Law, and Family Law.
- Experience or familiarity with policy and legislative engagement at both domestic and international levels is preferred.
- Knowledge of funding and grant application processes is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI tools and advanced research technologies is preferred.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- A strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment
