Research Analyst - Pharmaceutical Sector

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Equity Research Analyst to join our research team.

The successful candidate will conduct in-depth research and analysis to provide actionable investment and strategic insights.

LOCATION : Chennai


EXPERIENCE : Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the Indian pharmaceutical / healthcare sector preferably covering formulations, CDMO, hospitals, diagnostics, or specialty pharma.

QUALIFICATIONS : CA or CFA (preferred)

Key Responsibilities :

- Work closely with the fund management team to identify and evaluate investment opportunities across the pharma and healthcare landscape.

- Conduct rigorous statistical analysis of economic data, company fundamentals, and sector-specific correlations.

- Iterate frequently with the fund manager on financial models, valuation frameworks, and investment theses.

- Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and research databases; track key performance indicators.

- Prepare high-quality research reports, presentations, and investment briefs for the fund management team and other key stakeholders.

What We're Looking For :

- Strong fundamental research capability the ability to independently analyse business models, financial statements, industry structures, management quality, and valuation frameworks.

- Prior experience in institutional equities, buy-side research, PMS/AIF, brokerage research, or management consulting is preferred.

- Intellectual curiosity, clear written communication, and the ability to articulate investment ideas with depth, nuance, and conviction.

- A long-term investing mindset combined with analytical rigour and a genuine passion for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.
