Position Overview:

The Head - PPC will be responsible for end-to-end production planning, capacity planning, material coordination, dispatch alignment, and ensuring on-time project execution across manufacturing units. The role will act as the central integrator between Sales, Projects, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics.

The incumbent will drive OTIF delivery, inventory optimization, throughput maximization, and constraint management in a project-driven manufacturing environment.

A. Production Planning & Scheduling:

- Develop monthly / weekly / daily production plans aligned with project schedules.

- Create finite capacity-based plans considering bottlenecks (e.g., galvanizing, CNC, painting, assembly).

- Ensure alignment between manufacturing milestones and project site requirements.

- Drive adherence to Master Production Schedule (MPS).

B. Project Coordination & Order Management:

- Translate EPC / customer project schedules into plant-level production plans.

- Monitor milestone adherence and escalate slippages.

- Track order book vs plant loading vs dispatch plans.

- Ensure milestone-based billing support through timely dispatch.

C. Capacity & Constraint Management:

- Conduct capacity analysis (machine-wise, line-wise, shift-wise).

- Identify bottlenecks and propose debottlenecking initiatives.

- Optimize utilization across multiple plants.

- Recommend CAPEX based on load forecasting.

D. Material Planning & Inventory Control:

- Coordinate with Procurement for RM availability (steel, hardware, bought-outs).

- Maintain optimal RM, WIP, and FG inventory levels.

- Monitor slow-moving / non-moving inventory.

- Improve inventory turns while maintaining service levels.

E. Dispatch & Logistics Alignment:

- Plan dispatches as per site readiness and customer priority.

- Coordinate with logistics to avoid yard congestion.

- Track OTIF (On Time In Full) metrics.

- Reduce demurrage and dispatch delays.

F. Systems & Digital Integration:

- Lead ERP-driven planning processes (SAP / Oracle / Infor etc.).

- Implement digital dashboards for production tracking.

- Drive automation in planning and reporting.

- Improve data accuracy across BOM, routing, and lead times.

G. Cross-Functional Leadership:

- Lead PPC teams across plants.

- Work closely with:

f. Build structured review mechanisms (S&OP / IBP)
