Job Objective
To strategically develop, manage, and optimize the Individual Agency Channel (Motor/Health & Life) in the Kanpur territory, ensuring high productivity, agent retention, and significant contribution to the overall P&L.
This role involves leading key initiatives to expand market reach and strengthen the existing partner base.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Agency Channel Development:
- Lead the sourcing and onboarding of new POS agents in Kanpur, ensuring the agreed mix and quality standards are met for accelerated channel growth.
- Oversee the entire process of pre-licensing, training coordination, and licensing to ensure a robust pipeline of new agents.
- Design and implement effective induction and ongoing training programs in coordination with the sales training team to enhance agent capabilities and product knowledge, aiming for higher productivity.
- Develop and execute proactive strategies to reach out to and penetrate various market segments effectively.
Advanced Agency Channel Management:
- Proactively monitor and analyze agent performance on common variables (segment way to market - Renewal/Fresh database, funnel, closures) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Drive initiatives to maintain a consistently high active percentage of POS agents and implement strategies to control attrition effectively.
- Ensure high productivity across the assigned agent base and manage optimal channel engagement levels with POS agents.
Sales & Profitability Driving:
- Consistently achieve and exceed monthly/yearly sales targets for Motor, Health, and Life insurance products from the agency channel.
- Contribute to the profitability of the channel by working on various market dynamics, providing insightful feedback for internal organizational improvements, and actively participating in the management of loss ratios.
Enhanced Channel Servicing:
- Oversee and ensure timely reconciliation of partner accounts, acting as a primary liaison with all internal departments for smooth issue resolution.
Compliance & Hygiene Leadership:
- Ensure strict compliance with external regulatory bodies and internal company policies across all agency operations.
- Proactively manage and resolve cheque bounce recoveries and business pendency, ensuring high financial hygiene.
Other Responsibilities: Fulfill additional responsibilities as per evolving KPIs and growth factors to support the business objectives.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience: 5-6 years of strong, consistent sales experience within the agency channel of the life & health insurance sector, with a proven track record of exceeding targets.
- Channel Development & Management: Demonstrated ability to successfully develop, grow, and manage an agency network, including agent performance monitoring and retention strategies.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Experience in informally guiding or mentoring junior sales professionals.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to monitor performance metrics, analyze data, identify challenges, and implement solutions.
- Negotiation & Persuasion: Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to motivate agents and secure business.
- Market Understanding: Good understanding of local market dynamics and competitive landscape.
- Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of insurance regulatory compliance requirements.
- Computer Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office, CRM software, and sales analytics tools.
Ideal Candidate:
- A highly self-motivated and results-driven professional with 5-6 years of experience in agency sales within the life and health insurance industry, known for consistently achieving and exceeding targets.
