Relationship Manager - Working Capital

Role Objective:


- To drive business growth by acquiring new commercial banking clients and offering tailored financial solutions to meet their business needs.


Key Responsibilities:


1. New Client Acquisition


- Identify, target, and onboard new commercial clients (SMEs / Mid-Market / Large Corporates).

- Generate leads through market mapping, networking, cold calls, and referrals.

- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and conversion plan.


2. Financial Solutions & Product Sales


- Understand client business models and recommend appropriate banking solutions (e.g., working capital, term loans, trade finance, cash management).

- Collaborate with product teams to structure customized financial offerings.

- Achieve sales targets across multiple banking products and services.


3. Credit Analysis & Risk Evaluation


- Gather and analyze financial statements, industry data, and risk profiles of prospective clients.

- Prepare credit proposals with detailed risk assessments for internal approval.

- Liaise with credit and risk teams to ensure swift processing and turnaround.


4. Relationship Management (Post-Onboarding)


- Ensure smooth onboarding of new clients in coordination with internal stakeholders.

- Conduct periodic reviews to identify cross-sell/up-sell opportunities.

- Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and engagement.


5. Market Intelligence & Strategy


- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and regulatory changes.

- Provide strategic inputs for product development and pricing strategies.

- Participate in industry events and networking forums to enhance market visibility.


6. Compliance & Documentation


- Ensure full adherence to KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements.

- Manage documentation and onboarding processes with accuracy and timeliness.


Key Requirements:


- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).

- 4-8 years of experience in commercial banking, with a focus on client acquisition.

- Proven track record in new business development and sales.

- Strong understanding of credit underwriting, risk assessment, and financial analysis.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

- Ability to work independently and deliver under pressure.

- Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance norms.
