Role Overview:
As the Regional Sales Manager based in Kolkata, you will serve as the primary architect of our client's growth strategy across the East India market. This role involves leading high-performing sales teams to penetrate new territories, managing complex retail partnerships, and ensuring the regional P&L remains robust and profitable. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including marketing, supply chain, and senior leadership, to align regional execution with national business objectives. By driving excellence in retail operations and fostering deep-rooted client relationships, you will directly influence the companys market share and long-term revenue trajectory in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute comprehensive sales strategies to expand our retail footprint and ensure consistent achievement of monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
- Oversee the regional P&L, exercising rigorous control over operational expenses and trade spends to maximize bottom-line profitability.
- Mentor and lead a diverse team of sales professionals, providing the coaching necessary to enhance individual performance and collective team output.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key retail partners and distributors to ensure optimal product placement and brand visibility.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities in the Kolkata and East India region to provide actionable insights that inform product positioning and pricing decisions.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing retail sales strategies that drive market penetration and sustainable growth.
- Proven ability to manage full-cycle P&L responsibilities, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization within a competitive retail environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and negotiate effectively with high-value retail partners.
- Strong analytical mindset, capable of translating complex sales data into clear, strategic narratives for leadership review.
- A graduate degree from a premier institute is preferred, complemented by a track record of success in managing large-scale regional operations.
- High degree of adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, on-site environment, with a willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory to support field operations.
