Regional Sales Manager (RSM) West Maharashtra & Goa
Location: West Maharashtra & Goa (Based preferably in Pune / Mumbai / Kolhapur belt)
Reporting To: National Sales Head
Qualification: MBA / PGDM in Sales & Marketing (preferred)
A graduate with strong relevant experience may be considered
Experience:15+ years of total sales experience
Minimum 5-7 years in a senior regional / state-level sales role
Strong exposure to Lighting, Electrical Switches, Cables, Wires, or Building Materials
Role Objective:
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding distribution, strengthening channel relationships, and leading the regional sales team across West Maharashtra & Goa. The role focuses on achieving business targets while building long-term market presence in the electrical and building materials segment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Achieve regional sales, volume, and profitability targets
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with national objectives
- Drive primary and secondary sales across distributors, dealers, and project channels
Channel Management
- Appoint, manage, and develop distributors, dealers, retailers, and stockists
- Strengthen presence in key markets and emerging towns
- Handle key accounts, institutional sales, and project business (where applicable)
Market Development
- Identify new business opportunities, geographies, and product penetration gaps
- Monitor competition, pricing, schemes, and market trends
- Ensure effective execution of trade schemes and promotions
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate Area Sales Managers / Sales Officers
- Set KPIs, conduct reviews, and ensure performance improvement
- Build a high-performance, result-oriented sales team
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, and production teams
- Ensure smooth order processing, timely deliveries, and collections
- Resolve channel conflicts and escalations effectively
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to company policies and processes
- Prepare sales forecasts, MIS reports, and business reviews
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of electrical / lighting/building materials trade dynamics
- Proven expertise in distribution-led sales models
- Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills
- Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Commercial acumen with a focus on profitability and growth
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Extensive experience handling West Maharashtra & Goa markets
- Background from reputed brands in lighting, switches, cables, wires, or building materials
- Stable career progression with a consistent performance track record
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region
