Regional Sales Manager - South


Description:


- The role focuses on driving profitable sales growth across South India (e.g., Bangalore base, covering GT channels) by leading Zonal Sales Managers and sales teams to meet primary/secondary targets, ensure deep distribution, and execute channel strategies.

- Responsibilities include developing regional sales plans, monitoring performance metrics like revenue, margins, and fill rates, while managing budgets, promotions, and distributor networks. The position reports to National Sales Head, emphasizing execution excellence and collaboration with marketing for visibility drives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve or exceed regional targets, including forecasting, trend analysis, and corrective actions.

- Manage and coach sales teams (ASMs, sales officers), including recruitment, training, deployment, and performance reviews.

- Build efficient distributor/retail networks, ensure stock control, commercial hygiene (e.g., damages, returns), and timely supply chain coordination.

- Liaise with marketing for promotions, GTM execution, and regional activations; prepare budgets, reports, and sales blueprints.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Graduate (any specialization) with MBA/PGDM in Marketing or Sales (mandatory).

- 15+ years of FMCG sales experience, preferably in GT/MT, with proven regional leadership and target achievement.

- Willingness to work 6 days/week; based in Bangalore with regional travel.

- Strong leadership, team coaching, analytical (Excel/CRM), and P&L/channel expertise.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and decision-making abilities.

- Strategic thinking with execution discipline and market/competitor knowledge
