Role Overview:
- Our client is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Logistics Officer to manage and support logistics operations across a defined region. This role is responsible for coordinating logistics activities, depot operations, and distribution processes to ensure the efficient movement of finished goods and slow/non-moving inventory.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and coordination skills, a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain principles, and the ability to manage multiple processes with minimal supervision. A customer-focused mindset and accurate record-keeping are essential to ensure smooth operations across all distribution channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor logistics, depot, and distribution operations on a daily basis.
- Ensure effective utilization of premises, assets, and communication channels.
- Use logistics IT systems to optimize documentation, transportation, and process efficiency.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of depot stock, dispatches, executed orders, and returns.
- Prepare and share MIS and performance reports for management review.
- Provide support during annual audits by maintaining proper documentation and compliance records.
- Coordinate with carrying & forwarding agents (CFAs) for daily operations, system-related queries, customer feedback, and logistics complaints.
- Manage bill booking and payment processing, ensuring timely submission and collection of required vendor documents (including NOCs).
- Address vendor queries and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
Dangerous Goods & Compliance Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to the handling and transportation of dangerous goods.
- Coordinate marking, labeling, and placarding of dangerous goods through approved third-party service providers.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of transport and shipping documents in coordination with clearing agents.
- Oversee security measures related to storage and distribution of finished goods.
Required Experience:
- 4-7 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations.
- Prior experience managing regional logistics or depot operations is preferred.
- Experience handling customer service, vendor coordination, and compliance-related activities will be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple activities, and take ownership of deliverables.
Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Additional certifications in logistics, supply chain, or safety compliance will be an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-oriented mindset with strong record-keeping abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment.
