Job Title: Regional Collection Head

Location: Mumbai

Grade: Up to DVP

Industry: Banking / NBFC

Role Overview:

The Regional Collection Head will be responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end collections function across the assigned region. The role entails driving collection efficiency, minimizing delinquency and credit losses, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building high-performing collection teams across products.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead regional collections strategy across retail/wholesale assets in line with the banks risk and credit policies.

- Own portfolio performance including DPD, roll rates, recovery, write-offs, and NPA reduction.

- Manage and mentor a large regional team comprising collection managers, field staff, and agency partners.

- Drive productivity and effectiveness of in-house and outsourced collection channels.

- Monitor collection analytics, MIS, and dashboards to identify trends and implement corrective actions.

- Ensure strict adherence to RBI guidelines, bank policies, and fair practice codes.

- Coordinate closely with Credit, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Business teams to improve portfolio quality.

- Oversee legal recovery processes including SARFAESI, arbitration, and litigation where applicable.

- Manage vendor performance, cost control, and negotiations with external agencies.

- Lead regional initiatives on digitization, process improvement, and customer-centric collection practices.

- Handle escalations and sensitive cases with a balanced approach to recovery and customer experience.

Candidate Profile:

- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Collections with a Banking or NBFC background.

- Proven experience in managing regional or large-scale collection operations.

- Strong understanding of retail/wholesale asset products and collection life cycles.

- In-depth knowledge of regulatory guidelines, legal recovery mechanisms, and compliance standards.

- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience handling large, geographically dispersed teams.

- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to drive results in a high-pressure, performance-driven environment.
