Key Responsibilities -
Strategic SCM and Planning
- Develop and execute a project-specific SCM strategy aligned with the LSTK contractual requirements, project schedules, and budget constraints for MSW biogas plants.
- Lead the demand forecasting, planning, and scheduling of all materials, equipment (e.g., digesters, gas engines, scrubbers, pre-treatment units), and services required for the LSTK projects.
- Identify potential business risks and work out mitigation plans in advance.
- Identify, develop and foster business relationship with key supplier partners having right technology, proven track record, experience and expertise in project planning and execution along with sound financial background.
- Establish and maintain a robust Approved Vendor List (AVL) for specialized MSW biogas technology, equipment, and construction services.
Procurement and Sourcing
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including tender management, technical and commercial evaluation, negotiation, and finalization of contracts for major equipment, bulk materials, and subcontractors.
- Implement global sourcing strategies to leverage cost efficiencies and secure critical, long-lead items.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to compliance, quality, and technical specifications for MSW-to-biogas technology.
- Finalising commercial terms to de-risk the organisation from the negative cashflow during project execution, under-performing plants and/or equipments etc
Logistics and Inventory Management
- Manage project logistics, including international and domestic freight, customs clearance, and timely delivery to often remote project sites.
- Establish site-based inventory and warehousing control systems to prevent material shortages, pilferage, or damage.
- Optimize material handling and storage to minimize demurrage and logistics costs.
Contract and Risk Management
- Work closely with the Legal and Project Management teams to ensure that all supply and subcontract agreements are aligned with the LSTK project scope, risk allocation, and penalty/incentive clauses.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate SCM-related risks (e.g., supplier failure, geopolitical issues, customs delays) that could impact the LSTK schedule or cost.
- Manage supplier and contractor performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards, delivery timelines, and contractual obligations.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary SCM interface with internal stakeholders (BU Head, Engineering, Finance, Owner's engineer) and external partners (suppliers, contractors, clients).
- Drive continuous improvement in SCM processes and performance metrics (e.g., On-Time Delivery, Purchase Price Variance, Supplier Quality).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
-Candidates must have an experience in Sewage Treatment Plant, Municipal Solid waste Treatment Plant
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in SCM, with a significant portion dedicated to large-scale Capital Projects in the Waste-to-Energy sectors.
- Demonstrated experience managing SCM for LSTK or EPC projects is mandatory.
- Specific experience with biogas, waste management, or renewable energy technologies is highly desirable.
