Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and result-driven professional to lead Fly Ash Logistics operations at a regional level. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in bulk logistics management, particularly in fly ash, coal, steel, or similar loose material transportation. This role demands deep operational knowledge, strong transporter network management, and the ability to optimize costs while ensuring seamless logistics execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Logistics Operations Management

- Oversee end-to-end logistics operations for fly ash movement across the assigned region.

- Ensure timely placement of vehicles and smooth execution of dispatch plans.

- Monitor daily operations, turnaround time (TAT), and delivery efficiency.

- Handle multiple sites and ensure uninterrupted material movement.

2. Transporter Development & Network Expansion

- Identify, onboard, and develop reliable transporters, especially in the tipper segment.

- Build and maintain a strong database of local transporters across the region.

- Strengthen long-term partnerships with transport vendors for consistent service delivery.

3. Rate Negotiation & Commercial Management

- Negotiate freight rates with transporters to ensure cost-effective operations.

- Continuously benchmark market rates and optimize logistics costs.

- Prepare and manage transport budgets, cost analysis, and MIS reports.

4. Union & Stakeholder Management

- Effectively manage and handle transporter unions and local associations.

- Resolve disputes, operational challenges, and ensure smooth coordination at all locations.

- Maintain strong relationships with plant teams, clients, and transport partners.

5. Costing, Mileage & Fuel Management

- Monitor vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and route efficiency.

- Implement cost control measures to improve profitability.

- Analyze logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve utilization.

6. Compliance & Safety

- Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

- Promote safe logistics practices across all operations.

- Monitor documentation, permits, and compliance requirements.

7. Team Leadership & Coordination

- Lead and manage regional logistics teams, including site coordinators and supervisors.

- Provide guidance, training, and performance monitoring of team members.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless operations.

Key Requirements:

- Minimum 15 years of experience in logistics operations, preferably in fly ash, coal, steel, bulk materials, or similar industries.

- Strong exposure to transporter onboarding, vendor development, and negotiation.

- Proven experience in handling transporter unions and resolving operational challenges.

- Well-established network/database of local transporters, especially in the tipper segment.

- Strong knowledge of mileage tracking, fuel management, and logistics costing.

- Experience in managing large-scale, multi-location logistics operations.

- Candidates from unrelated industries will not be considered.
