Position Overview:

The Manager will be responsible for securing insurance coverage and obtaining statutory approvals for Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants using OFMSW, press mud, and agricultural residues. The role demands strong on-field experience in navigating regulatory frameworks, liaising with government authorities, and ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and energy sector norms.

Key Responsibilities:

Insurance Management:

- Assess risks associated with CBG plants and carry out strategic negotiations for comprehensive insurance packages (construction, operational, liability, and environmental).

- Design risk mitigation strategies by selecting the right insurance package for plants under O&M.

- Ensure efficient claims management by coordinating with insurers, handling documentation, and expediting claim settlements.

- Maintain updated records of insurance policies and renewal schedules.

Statutory Approvals:

- Obtain clearances from Pollution Control Boards, Petroleum & Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO), State Energy Departments, and Municipal Authorities.

- Ensure compliance with MoPNG guidelines, MNRE policies, and local statutory norms.

- Liaise with local bodies for land use permissions, fire safety approvals, and factory licenses.

- Facilitate documentation for subsidies, carbon credits, and renewable energy certifications.

Stakeholder Engagement:

- Act as the primary interface with government agencies, insurance companies, and project consultants.

- Support project execution teams by resolving statutory bottlenecks on-site.

- Conduct training and awareness sessions for plant staff on compliance and risk management.

Monitoring & Reporting:

- Track approval timelines and escalate delays proactively.

- Prepare compliance dashboards and risk registers for senior management.

- Ensure all statutory and insurance-related documentation is audit-ready.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Graduate/Postgraduate in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Legal/Compliance disciplines.

- 8 - 12 years of hands-on experience in statutory approvals and insurance management for industrial/renewable energy projects.

- Proven track record of working with CBG/MSW/biomass plants or similar infrastructure projects.

- Strong knowledge of environmental laws, energy sector regulations, and industrial safety norms.

- Excellent negotiation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
