Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manager - Costing to join our Finance team in Chennai. The role will focus on accurate costing, analysis, and reporting across projects, fleets, and operational sites, supporting informed decision-making and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain costing models for projects, fleet operations, and sites

- Prepare detailed cost sheets and reports for management review

- Analyze variances, cost trends, and operational efficiencies

- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning with accurate costing inputs

- Collaborate with operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost allocation

- Provide insights for cost optimization, process improvements, and profitability enhancement

- Maintain cost records, MIS, and documentation in compliance with accounting standards

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of project, fleet, and site costing

- Hands-on experience in logistics and transport costing

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills

- Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and ERP costing modules

- Ability to coordinate across teams and provide actionable insights

- Detail-oriented with high ownership and execution focus

Preferred Profile

- Qualified Cost Accountant (CMA) - mandatory

- Additional finance or accounting qualifications are a plus

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in costing, finance, or project accounting

- Strong expertise in project costing, fleet costing, and site costing

- Experience in logistics and transportation costing is highly preferred

- Candidates with prior experience in industrial, logistics, or operations-heavy organizations

- Experience in fleet management and operational cost tracking

- Familiarity with CMA standards, financial reporting, and cost compliance
