Refex Goup - Manager - Business Development - AHP/O&M

Job Purpose:

The Manager - Business Development will be responsible for driving business growth for Ash Handling Plant (AHP) O&M services across multiple thermal power plants in the South region. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, supporting techno-commercial proposals, and coordinating with operations teams to ensure successful project acquisition and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead business development activities for AHP - O&M services across thermal power plants in the South region.

- Identify and track upcoming tenders, RFQs, and business opportunities related to AHP O&M.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with utility clients, plant heads, and key stakeholders.

- Prepare and review techno-commercial proposals, cost estimates, and bid submissions.

- Coordinate with operations, engineering, and finance teams for bid strategy and pricing.

- Support contract negotiations, finalization, and handover to execution teams.

- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and client requirements in the thermal power sector.

- Assist in business expansion, renewals, and retention of existing O&M contracts.

- Travel frequently to thermal power plants across the South region for client meetings and site visits.

Key Requirements:

- Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in Ash Handling Plant (AHP) Operations & Maintenance.

- Prior experience working with multiple thermal power plants in an O&M service role is mandatory.

- Strong understanding of AHP systems such as dry ash, wet ash, pneumatic conveying, and associated auxiliaries.

- Proven exposure to business development, tendering, or client-facing roles in the power sector.

- Excellent techno-commercial understanding of O&M contracts.

- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Willingness to be based in Chennai and manage South Indian thermal power plants.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Engineering degree (Mechanical / Electrical / Power or related discipline).

- Experience working with EPC/O&M service providers in the thermal power industry.

- Any degree with an MBA marketing preferred
