Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Assistant manager will be responsible for managing the procurement process of goods and services for the company. They will be responsible for sourcing and procuring quality products at competitive prices, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The coordinator will also maintain an accurate and up-to-date procurement database and report regularly to management on procurement activities.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
a. Sourcing and Supplier Management:
- Conduct thorough supplier assessments, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns regarding quality, delivery, or pricing.
b. Import Procurement:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as production, sales, and logistics teams, to understand import requirements and align procurement activities accordingly.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and availability of imported goods.
- Source and select suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
c. Supply Chain Management:
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery, resolve any customs or logistics issues, and minimize delays.
- Work closely with the logistics team to optimize transportation routes, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
d. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Conduct regular supplier audits to assess compliance with quality and ethical standards.
- Monitor and manage import documentation, including customs clearance, import licenses, and certificates of origin.
e. Financial and Performance Analysis:
- Identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and develop strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
- Prepare reports and presentations on import procurement activities and present findings to management.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.
