Description:
Role Summary :
- The Supplier Relations professional will be responsible for building, managing, and optimizing a reliable supplier network within the scrap industry.
- The role focuses on supplier onboarding, contract negotiations, compliance, risk mitigation, and market intelligence to ensure cost-effective, ethical, and uninterrupted sourcing.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management & Relationship Building:
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with scrap suppliers and vendors.
- Build trust and rapport with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and timely deliveries.
- Act as the primary point of contact for supplier-related communications and issue resolution.
Supplier Evaluation & Compliance:
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, including financial stability, operational reliability, and quality standards.
- Ensure adherence to legal, environmental, safety, and ethical compliance requirements.
- Conduct periodic supplier audits and performance reviews.
Negotiation & Contract Management:
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, volumes, and commercial terms to achieve cost optimization.
- Manage contract renewals, amendments, and dispute resolution related to quality, delivery, or compliance.
Market Analysis & Risk Management:
- Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply-demand dynamics within the scrap industry.
- Monitor regulatory changes and industry best practices impacting sourcing and procurement.
- Identify sourcing risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity.
Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement:
- Resolve supplier disputes related to quality deviations, delivery delays, or contractual obligations.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (procurement, operations, finance, compliance) to improve sourcing efficiency.
- Recommend process improvements and alternative sourcing strategies.
