As part of its commitment to a greener and more sustainable future, The SAGE Group launched ReBAT, a cutting-edge Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling and Critical Mineral Refining venture.

At ReBAT, we are building a circular ecosystem for the battery industry by enabling responsible collection, recycling, recovery, and refining of valuable materials from end-of-life batteries, battery scrap, and black mass. Our mission is to support India's energy transition by reducing dependence on virgin raw materials, strengthening domestic critical mineral supply chains, and partnering with OEMs, battery manufacturers, energy storage players, fleet operators, and global stakeholders.

With advanced technology, strong environmental compliance, and a future-ready commercial approach, ReBAT aims to become a preferred strategic partner for sustainable battery recycling and material recovery in India and international markets.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly driven, commercially strong, and relationship-oriented Business Development & Strategic Partnerships Lead to build and scale strategic partnerships for ReBAT across India and global markets.

This role will be responsible for developing commercial relationships with OEMs, EV companies, battery manufacturers, fleet operators, collection partners, electronics companies, energy storage players, metal traders, recyclers, and international supply chain stakeholders. The person will lead efforts to secure feedstock tie-ups, recycling contracts, long-term strategic alliances, refining opportunities, and commercial collaborations for recovered materials.

The ideal candidate should be capable of opening doors with large enterprises, converting discussions into structured partnerships, negotiating long-term agreements, and building a strong pipeline across both domestic and overseas markets. This is a high-impact role requiring commercial maturity, sector understanding, negotiation skills, and the ability to work closely with leadership, operations, compliance, and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Development:

- Develop and execute ReBAT's business development strategy for battery recycling, black mass sourcing, and critical mineral refining partnerships.

- Identify and onboard new business opportunities across EV, energy storage, electronics, telecom, industrial battery, consumer battery, and scrap ecosystem segments.

- Build a strong pipeline of potential partners including OEMs, battery assemblers, battery importers, mobility operators, dismantlers, aggregators, producers, and international counterparties.

- Drive market entry and expansion plans for priority sectors, geographies, and partner categories.

- Support leadership in defining revenue growth roadmap, customer segmentation, and account prioritization.

OEM & Enterprise Partnerships:

- Lead tie-ups with automotive OEMs, EV OEMs, battery OEMs, cell manufacturers, battery pack companies, ESS players, and consumer electronics brands for recycling, take-back, reverse logistics, and material recovery programs.

- Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers including sustainability heads, procurement teams, supply chain leaders, plant heads, and CXO-level stakeholders.

- Structure strategic partnerships for end-of-life battery collection, production scrap recycling, black mass processing and refining, EPR-linked recycling support, closed-loop material recovery programs, and annual or multi-year supply arrangements.

- Convert exploratory discussions into pilot projects, commercial contracts, and long-term enterprise accounts.

International Partnerships & Market Development:

- Identify opportunities with global battery supply chain players including traders, refiners, raw material companies, battery manufacturers, recycling intermediaries, and industrial partners.

- Build business relationships in key international markets for feedstock sourcing, black mass procurement, toll processing, and refined product sales.

- Support cross-border commercial discussions, NDAs, MoUs, term sheets, and partnership frameworks.

- Represent ReBAT in international industry events, trade meetings, investor forums, and partnership discussions.

Commercial Negotiation & Deal Closure:

- Lead commercial discussions covering pricing models, contract structures, service scope, commercial terms, payment terms, risk allocation, volumes, SLAs, and exclusivity clauses where relevant.

- Negotiate and close contracts for battery waste collection and recycling, OEM take-back arrangements, industrial scrap buy-sell agreements, material offtake agreements, and strategic partnership agreements.

- Work with internal legal and compliance teams to ensure commercially balanced and enforceable agreements.

- Ensure proper commercial evaluation of every opportunity including margin potential, strategic fit, credit risk, operational feasibility, and long-term value.

Partnership Ecosystem Development:

- Build a broad ecosystem of partners including collection agencies, dismantlers, reverse logistics providers, authorized recyclers and channel partners, international sourcing partners, commodity buyers, sustainability consultants, and industry associations.

- Create channel partnership models to improve feedstock access and regional coverage.

- Develop institutional relationships that strengthen ReBAT's positioning in the battery circular economy.

Market Intelligence & Opportunity Mapping:

- Track industry trends in battery recycling, EV growth, battery chemistry shifts, black mass flows, EPR obligations, international material demand, and critical minerals value chains.

- Conduct competitor benchmarking and commercial intelligence on recyclers, refiners, aggregators, and new market entrants.

- Provide management with regular pipeline reports, partnership updates, market feedback, and revenue forecasts.

Cross-functional Coordination:

- Work closely with operations, plant, logistics, compliance, finance, legal, and leadership teams to ensure partner commitments can be executed efficiently.
