
Role Summary:
RAYS Education is seeking a high-energy Sales Team Lead to manage and scale a team of 25 inside sales agents handling inbound and outbound leads for our medical and engineering entrance coaching programs (NEET, JEE, Foundation & Crash Programs).
The role focuses on driving conversions, improving counselling quality, enforcing discipline in CRM usage, and building a high-performance sales culture. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong execution, data orientation, and daily floor management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management & Performance
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of ~25 inside sales counsellors
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly targets for leads contacted, counselling sessions, conversions, and revenue
- Conduct daily stand-ups, call reviews, and performance huddles
- Identify underperformance early and implement corrective action plans
2. Sales Execution & Conversion
- Ensure timely follow-up of all inbound leads from digital, referral, school tie-ups, and walk-ins
- Monitor counselling quality and ensure value-based, ethical selling aligned with RAYS' academic reputation
- Personally handle high-value or complex parent/student conversations when required
3. Process, CRM & Reporting
- Ensure 100% adherence to CRM processes (lead tagging, follow-ups, conversion status, reasons for drop-offs)
- Track and analyze key metrics:
- Lead-to-counselling ratio
- Counselling-to-conversion ratio
- Revenue per counsellor
- Cost per acquisition (in coordination with marketing)
- Share daily MIS and weekly performance reports with senior management
4. Training & Capability Building
- Onboard and train new counsellors on:
- RAYS programs, outcomes, and pedagogy
- Parent handling and objection management
- Sales scripts and counselling frameworks
-Conduct weekly refresher training and role-play sessions
5. Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with Marketing on lead quality and campaign effectiveness
- Coordinate with Academic & Operations teams to ensure smooth post-admission experience
- Provide structured feedback from the field to improve offerings and messaging
Key Targets & KPIs:
- Team revenue & enrollment targets
-Lead-to-conversion percentage
- Average response time to leads
- Productivity per counsellor
- CRM hygiene and data accuracy
Candidate Profile:
Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in inside sales, with minimum 2-3 years as a Team Lead
- Proven experience managing large inside sales teams (15-25 members)
- Prior experience in EdTech / Education / Coaching institutes (NEET/JEE preferred) is a strong advantage
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong people management and floor leadership skills
- Excellent communication in English & Malayalam (Hindi is a plus)
- Data-driven mindset with comfort in dashboards, reports, and KPIs
- High ownership, discipline, and execution orientation
