R&D/Product Development Consultant - Global Consulting Firm - Contractual

Out client, a global consulting firm is supporting a live cost and product improvement initiative with a leading home appliances player in Goa. The engagement focuses on identifying product development and design-led opportunities, with the consultant working closely with the clients R&D team to translate ideas into tangible, implementable solutions.

The consultant will bring hands-on R&D, product development or design expertise to assess products and BOMs, generate improvement opportunities, and drive ideas through the development, testing and validation lifecycle through to implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyse product BOMs and identify cost optimisation and improvement opportunities

- Generate and assess product/design improvement ideas with the clients R&D team

- Support the product development lifecycle from conceptualisation and design through prototyping, testing and validation

- Work closely with R&D, engineering and other client stakeholders to develop and refine solutions

- Drive identified opportunities through trials and full implementation

- Manage stakeholders and support execution of agreed product improvement initiatives

Your Background:

- 5-10 years of relevant experience; flexibility based on profile

- Hands-on experience in R&D, product development, product design or engineering

- Experience across the product development lifecycle, including design, prototyping, testing/validation and implementation

- Experience with BOM analysis, cost optimisation or value engineering is preferred

- Background in home appliances, automotive, industrial products, consumer durables or other adjacent sectors

- Strong stakeholder management and ability to work closely with client R&D/development teams

- Engineering background, preferably Mechanical or a related discipline

Other Info:

- Location: Goa, 5 days onsite per week

- Contract Duration: 4 months initially, with potential to extend up to 12 months based on performance and project requirements

- Travel & accommodation covered by the client.
